As of April 2024, the revenue of the central government is Rs 2,13,334 crore
  • As of April 2024, the revenue of the central government was Rs 2,13,334 crore. Of this, Rs 1,84,998 crore is tax revenue. The Rs 27,295 crore was non -taxable and Rs 1,041 crore was a non -capital revenue. 
  • Rs 69,875 crore has been given to the state governments from revenue. This is Rs 10,735 crore higher than the previous year.
  • The total expenditure of the central government was Rs 4,23,470 crore. This includes a revenue of Rs 3,24,235 crore and Rs 99,235 crore. The total revenue expenditure is Rs 1,28,263 crore interest. Rs 19,407 crore subsidies.
3D printed engine test success
  • There are many start-up companies operating in association with IIT Chennai. In that regard, Agnicool Cosmos, a start-up company, is working on designing small-scale rockets for private use. 
  • Accordingly, it developed a small rocket called 'Agniban' capable of launching satellites weighing up to 300 kg. Its semi-cryogenic engine was designed using three-dimensional (3-D) printing.
  • A team of 200 engineers under the guidance of 45 ex-scientists of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) were involved in the design of the rocket. The National Fuel Research and Development Center at IIT Chennai also helped them in various ways.
  • 4 attempts were made last March 22, April 6, 7 and May 28 to test the rocket at the launch pad owned by Agnikul Cosmos at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Those attempts were unsuccessful due to technical issues.
  • In this case, ISRO informed that the attempt made for the 5th time yesterday at 7.15 am was successful.
46th Antarctic Treaty Consultation Meeting
  • India successfully concluded the 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultation and 26th Antarctic Environmental Protection Committee Meeting from 20 May to 30 May 2024 in Kochi, Kerala.
  • India's plan to set up a research station in Antarctica named Maitri-2 has already been announced. In this case, the 46th Antarctic Treaty Conference was held with the theme 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. 
  • It was held with the objectives of peace, scientific cooperation and protection of Antarctica for the benefit of mankind. The conference was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Geosciences Mr. Kiran Rijiju and senior officials.
