- Siddanand Naik, a student of Film and Television Training Institute of India (FTII), has won the 'La Cinef' award for his short film “Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know” at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
- Student director Siddanand Nair received the award at the ceremony, with the official announcement of the winner on May 23, 2024. While Siddanand Nayak is the director of this short film, Sooraj Thakur is the cinematographer and V. Manoj is the cinematographer and Abhishek Katham is the sound recordist.
