India's Economic Growth to 6.2 Percent in 2024 - UN Report
- According to the UN's latest economic assessment report, India's economic growth will expand to 6.9 percent by 2024. It is projected to be 6.6 percent by 2025. At the same time, it is also mentioned that India's GDP will be 6.6 percent in 2025.
- Air Force Family Welfare Association President Ms. Neeta Chowdhury inaugurated Umeed Niketan, an advanced treatment center for children with special needs at Air Force Base Bridge Air Force Base.
- Umeed Niketan has been created to enhance life skills and create a better nurturing environment through recreational activities tailored to the unique abilities of children with special needs. The center works to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of special children through sensory exploration, speech therapy, play, etc. Offers a wide variety of programs. Umeed Niketan will serve 55 differently-abled children.
- It has a team of specially trained educators. All regional heads of Air Force Family Welfare Associations from across the country participated in the inauguration ceremony. The program highlights the Indian Air Force's commitment to improving facilities for the welfare of Air Force families.
- The second India-Australia-Indonesia Trilateral Maritime Security Workshop was held from 15th to 17th May 2024 at INS Dronacharya Base, Kochi. The workshop was held on the theme 'Collaborative Efforts to Enhance Maritime Security in the Indian Ocean Region'.
- It discussed in detail the maritime security challenges and opportunities for maritime cooperation between the three maritime nations in the region. Representatives of the navies of the three countries participated in the workshop organized by the Southern Naval Command.
- During the workshop, discussions were held on various topics including communication mechanisms, maritime domain awareness, prevention of illegal activities, maritime law enforcement, capacity building.
