• 2023-இல் பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கு அதிகம் செலவிட்ட நாடுகள் பட்டியல் / LIST OF COUNTRIES THAT SPENT MOST ON DEFENCE 2023: பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கு கடந்த ஆண்டில் அதிக நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்த நாடுகளின் பட்டியலில் 4-ஆவது இடத்தில் இந்தியா இருப்பதாக ஸ்டாக்ஹோம் சா்வதேச அமைதி ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
• பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்காக கடந்த ஆண்டில் 8,360 கோடி டாலா் இந்தியா செலவிட்டுள்ளது. இது 2022 மற்றும் 2014 ஆகிய ஆண்டுகளில் செலவிட்ட நிதியை விட முறையே 4.2 மற்றும் 44 சதவீதம் அதிகம் என அந்த அமைப்பு தனது அறிக்கையில் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
• பாதுகாப்புப் படைகளில் வீரா்கள் மற்றும் ராணுவ செயல்பாடுகளுக்கான செலவுகள் அதிகரிப்பால், இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கான நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு அதிகரித்துள்ளது. பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கான மொத்த பட்ஜெட்டில் அவற்றின் பங்கு 80 சதவீதமாகும்.
• சீனா, பாகிஸ்தான் உள்ளிட்ட அண்டை நாடுகளுடன் நிலவி வரும் பதற்றத்தால், பாதுகாப்புப் படைகளைப் பலப்படுத்த இந்திய அரசு முக்கியத்துவம் அளித்து வருகிறது. 
• பாதுகாப்புத் தளவாடங்களுக்கான கொள்முதலுக்கான நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு கடந்த ஆண்டு பட்ஜெட்டில் 22 சதவீதமாகத் தொடா்ந்தது. அவற்றில் 75 சதவீதம் உள்நாட்டில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட தளவாடங்கள் கொள்முதலுக்கு ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டன. 
• இது முன்னெப்போதும் இல்லாத நிதி ஒதுக்கீடாகும். கடந்த 2022-இல் அதற்கான நிதி 68 சதவீமாக இருந்தது. தளவாடங்களை உள்நாட்டில் தயாரிக்கும் இந்தியாவின் இலக்கை இது பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.
• உக்ரைன் போா், ஆசியா, ஓஸியானியா, மத்திய கிழக்கு பிராந்தியத்தில் நிலவி வரும் புவிசாா் அரசியல் பதற்றத்தால், உலக அளவில் பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட செலவு கடந்த ஆண்டில் அதிகரித்துள்ளது. ‘தொடா்ந்து 9-ஆவது ஆண்டாக உலக அளவில் பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கான செலவினம் அதிகரித்து 2.44 லட்சம் கோடி டாலரை எட்டியுள்ளது.
• பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கு கடந்த ஆண்டில் அமெரிக்கா செலவிட்ட நிதி 91,600 கோடி டாலராகும். இது அதற்கு முந்தைய ஆண்டை விட 2.3 சதவீதம் அதிகம்.
• பாதுகாப்புத் துறைக்கான செலவில் 29,600 கோடி டாலருடன் சீனா இரண்டாவது இடத்திலும், 10,900 கோடி டாலருடன் ரஷியா மூன்றவாது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன. 
• ரஷியாவுடன் கடந்த இரு ஆண்டுகளாக போரில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள உக்ரைன் பாதுகாப்புக்கு 6,480 கோடி டாலா் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்து பட்டியலில் 8-ஆவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

• LIST OF COUNTRIES THAT SPENT MOST ON DEFENCE 2023: According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, India ranks 4th in the list of countries that have allocated the most funds to the defense sector in the last year.
• India has spent $8,360 crore on defense last year. This is 4.2 and 44 percent more than the funds spent in 2022 and 2014, respectively, the organization said in its report.
• India's defense budget has increased due to the increase in spending on personnel and military operations in the defense forces. Their share of the total defense budget is 80 percent.
• Due to the tension with neighboring countries including China and Pakistan, the Indian government is giving importance to strengthening the security forces. Allocation of funds for procurement of defense equipment continued at 22 percent of last year's budget. 
• Of that, 75 percent was earmarked for procurement of locally manufactured logistics. This is an unprecedented allocation of funds. In 2022, the funding was 68 percent. This reflects India's goal of indigenizing logistics.
• Due to the war in Ukraine, geopolitical tensions in Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East region, global defense spending has increased in the past year. For the 9th year in a row, global defense spending has increased to 2.44 trillion dollars.
• Last year the US spent on defense was $91.6 billion. This is 2.3 percent higher than the previous year.
• China is second with $29.6 billion in defense spending and Russia is third with $10.9 billion. Ukraine, which has been at war with Russia for the past two years, is 8th on the list with an allocation of $6,480 million for its defense.
