- The Defense Research and Development Agency 2024 successfully test-fired an indigenously developed cruise missile at the Integrated Test Center at Chandipur on the Odisha coast on April 18.

The missile has been developed by the DRTO Laboratory Aeronautical Development Organization in Bengaluru with the participation of other laboratories and Indian industries. The trial was visited by several principal scientists from various DRDO laboratories and representatives of the manufacturing partner.
- The deployment of BrahMos supersonic missiles to the Philippines is being carried out by the Indian Air Force. For this, the Union Ministry of Aviation, Airports Authority of India etc. are providing necessary assistance.
- BrahMos missiles are set to land in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, just as Lok Sabha elections begin here. It is seen as a turning point in India's defense export deal.
- This is the largest defense agreement signed with a foreign country. The first BrahMos export missile is scheduled to take off tonight from Nagpur in an IAF C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft. It will reach Manila, the capital of the Philippines early tomorrow (April 19). Additional parts for the BrahMos missile are to be carried on three cargo planes.
