Successful test of indigenously developed portable anti-tank missile weapon system
- The indigenously developed field-portable anti-tank guided missile weapon system developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has been field-evaluated several times in various modes with an aim to demonstrate high superiority of the technology. The system consists of launcher, target detection capability system, fire control unit.
- A sufficient number of missile tests have been successfully conducted to match the full operational capability of the Indian Army. The missile was successfully test-fired on April 13, 2024 at Pokhran Field Firing Range, Rajasthan. Missile performance and warhead performance were found to be significant.
- It has been found capable of defeating a modern battle tank. This missile system is well equipped with day/night and surface attack capability. It is an excellent value addition to the missile capability for tank warfare.
- With this, technology development and successful demonstration completed, the system is now ready for end-user evaluation trials, ready for induction into the Indian Army.
