Coal production for the current financial year till February 2024
  • Coal production has increased both in private utility coal mines and commercial coal mines owned by companies. Total coal production and dispatch from these two types of mines for the period April 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024 was 126.80 million tonnes and 128.88 million tonnes respectively.
  • This is an increase of 27.06 per cent and 29.14 per cent respectively compared to the same period in FY 2022-23. It represents superior performance and robust structure. As of 29 February 2024, the total number of producing mines was 54.
Tripartite Agreement between Central Government, Tripura Government and Tripra Motha Organisation
  • In the presence of Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah, a tripartite agreement was signed today in New Delhi between the Central Government, the Tripura Government and the Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance popularly known as Tripra Motha and other relevant parties.
  • Under this agreement, it has been agreed to smoothly resolve all issues related to history, land and political rights, economic development, identity, culture and language of the tribal people of Tripura. Along with this, it has been agreed to form a joint working group to ensure a good solution.
