Joint Disaster Relief Exercise between India and US Forces - TIGER TRIUMPH 24
- TIGER TRIUMPH – 24, a tri-military humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise between India and the US, is underway in the Eastern Seaboard from today (March 18) to March 31.
- Indian Navy ships, helicopters, Indian Navy aircraft, Indian Army personnel and military vehicles, Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters and Rapid Action Medical Team are participating in the exercise.
- US military personnel, US Navy personnel, and US Navy ships are participating on behalf of the United States. The exercise aims to enhance cooperation in humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations.
- It is planned to conduct the port phase exercise from March 18 to 25. Naval personnel of both countries will participate in it. Once the port phase is completed, the soldiers on board the ships will go to sea and conduct maritime operations related to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
- Russia is the largest country in the world. But the population here is only 15 crores. Elections are held there every 6 years. In that way, the presidential election in Russia started last Friday and lasted for three days till Sunday.
- Elections were held across the country with one lakh polling booths set up. Arrangements were made at the embassies and consulates in their respective countries for Russians living abroad to vote. People also voted by email.
- Elections were held in one phase for all 11 regions in Russia. While President Putin is running as an independent, the National Freedom Democratic Party, the Communist Party, and the New People's Party are in the field.
- The counting of votes for the ongoing presidential election is underway. The results of the first phase of the election indicated that Putin received 87.8% of the votes cast and was re-elected as president. Notably, this is the highest number of votes an individual has received in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union.
- Putin, who became president in 1999, is the most powerful figure in Russia. Putin has now surpassed Joseph Stalin's record for the longest reign in Russia and the Soviet Union.
- Delhi won the toss and batted first in the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night. Delhi Capitals were all out for 113 runs in 18.3 overs. In RCB bowling, Shreyanka Patil took 4 wickets, Sophie Molyneux 3, Asha Chopana 2 wickets.
- RCB, who came in next, scored 115 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 19.3 overs and won the title of champions. The first prize of Rs 6 crore was given to the RCB team who won the title and the second prize was given to the Delhi team of Rs 3 crore. - For the first time, the Election Commission of India (ECI), along with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), organized a cricket match between the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) team and the Delhi District Cricket Association (DTCA) team.
- This promotional exhibition cricket match was organized with the aim of voter awareness and inclusive elections. The match was played yesterday (March 16, 2024) at the Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi.
- On this occasion, renowned para archer and Arjuna awardee Ms. Sheetal Devi was announced as the Election Commission's national icon in the differently abled category.
