Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various important schemes for the cooperative sector
- Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various important schemes for the cooperative sector at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
- The Prime Minister inaugurated the pilot project 'World's Largest Grain Storage Scheme in the Cooperative Sector' to be implemented in 11 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in 11 states.
- Prime Minister also laid foundation stone for 500 additional PACS projects across the country for warehousing and other agricultural infrastructure facilities under this scheme.
- The project aims to seamlessly integrate PACS warehouses with the food supply chain, strengthen food security and foster economic development in the country with the support of NABARD and the joint efforts of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
- The initiative is implemented by consolidating various existing schemes like Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure, which enable participating PACS to avail grants and interest subsidy benefits for undertaking infrastructure development.
- The Prime Minister also launched a program to computerize 18,000 PACS across the country in line with the government's vision of "Prosperity through Cooperatives" aimed at revitalizing the cooperative sector and empowering small and marginal people.
- Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi today inaugurated, dedicated and laid foundation stones for various development projects in several key sectors including roads, railways, coal, power and solar energy worth more than Rs 34,400 crore through a video presentation.
- The Prime Minister dedicated Unit-1 (2x800 MW) of NTPC's Laura Super Thermal Power Project to the country and laid the foundation stone for NTPC's Laura Super Thermal Power Project alagu-2 (2x800 MW) in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.
- The Prime Minister inaugurated three major connectivity projects of the South West Coalfield Company at a cost of over Rs 600 crore.
