Senthil Balaji resigns as minister
  • Minister Senthil Balaji was arrested by the enforcement department under the Prevention of Illegal Money Transfer Act on June 14 last year in a case of illegal money transfer in the transport sector and is in court custody. 
  • Meanwhile, the portfolios handled by Senthil Balaji were allotted to other ministers. Senthil Balaji continued to function as Minister without portfolio.
  • Governor Ravi objected to this and ordered the removal of Senthil Balaji from the cabinet. But within the next few hours he withdrew his order. Following this, Senthil Balaji, who continued as a minister without portfolio, filed a bail petition seeking his release from prison. The bail petition filed from the lower court to the Supreme Court was dismissed.
  • Senthil Balaji has been in jail for over 200 days. In this case, Senthil Balaji voluntarily wrote a letter to Chief Minister Stalin to resign from his ministerial post. This letter was sent to the Governor's House.
  • In this sensational situation, the reason for Senthil Balaji's resignation has been revealed. During the hearing of the bail plea, the enforcement department is arguing that since Senthil Balaji is a minister, the witness can be dismissed. It is said that the lawyers have given legal advice that his bail plea should be rejected due to this.
  • In this case, the Governor's House has announced that it accepts the letter given by Senthil Balaji to resign from his post as Minister. In this regard, in a press release issued by the Governor's House, it is stated that, 'Based on the letter written by the Chief Minister yesterday (Feb. 12), recommending to accept the resignation of Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthilbalaji, the Governor has accepted the recommendation and accepted the resignation'.
Prime Minister Modi and President Al Nahyan launched the UPI service in Abu Dhabi

  • This payment system is working in every nook and cranny of the country. Sri Lanka, France, Mauritius, UAE and Singapore have partnered with India for India's UPI payment system.
  • While India's UPI payment system has been introduced in Sri Lanka, France and Mauritius, UPI service has been introduced in the United Arab Emirates.
  • During the tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also meet the Indian community living in the UAE. The Indian community has organized a grand event to give him a rousing welcome. The show is titled 'Ahlan Modi'. 
  • The Arabic word for greeting and welcome is ahlan. The event will be held at the Saeed Sports City Arena in Abu Dhabi. More than 60 thousand people have registered for this.
