Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin released the Coir Policy 2024
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today released the "Coir Policy 2024" prepared by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department at the Secretariat to realize the challenges and competition faced by coir based industries and to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth of coir based industries.
- Coir policy involves meeting the needs of the coir industries, ensuring their growth and listening to and acting on the views of industry associations to benefit all stakeholders who have invested in the development of the sector. This collaborative approach also ensures that the industry meets its needs and provides solutions to achieve its growth goals.
- Ministry of Defense to procure QT-697 Bogie Open Military (POM) vehicles at a cost of Rs 473 crore with Jupiter Vehicles and QT-56 Mechanical Minefield Marking Equipment – 2 (MMME) at a cost of Rs 329 crore under the PI (Indian-IDTM) category in 2024 in New Delhi. On January 4, two agreements were signed.
- BOM vehicles, MMME will be manufactured with equipment and sub-system sourced from domestic manufacturers. It will encourage private sector participation in domestic manufacturing, defense manufacturing and realize the vision of a self-reliant India.
- Designed by the Research Design Standards Organization (RDSO), Bogie Open Military (POM) vehicles are specialized vehicles used by the Indian Army to mobilize military teams. BOM vehicles are used to transport light vehicles, artillery guns, BMPs, engineering equipment etc. from their locations to operational areas.
