Prime Minister inaugurated development projects worth over Rs.1150 crore in Lakshadweep, Kavarati
  • Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi today inaugurated and dedicated the completed projects to the country and laid foundation stones for new projects. Projects were launched in a wide range of sectors including technology, energy, water resources, health and education.
  •  The Prime Minister distributed laptops to students under the laptop scheme and distributed bicycles to schoolgirls under the Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child scheme. He also distributed Prime Minister Agricultural Credit Cards to farmers and fishermen beneficiaries.
  • The project will lead to increased internet speed and for the first time since independence, Lakshadweep will be connected through a submarine fiber optic cable. It will benefit fast, reliable internet services, telemedicine, e-governance, education initiatives, digital banking, digital currency usage, digital literacy etc.
Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the first all-women military school in Brindavan, Uttar Pradesh
  • Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated Samvit Gurukulam Women's Military School at Brindavan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh on January 01, 2024. First All Women Army School opened with about 870 students under an initiative to establish 100 new Army Schools in all States / Union Territories in collaboration with NGOs / Private / State Government Schools.
Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Standards Committee- Qatar and Village Industries Commission
  • An MoU was signed between Indian Standards Committee-Qadr and Village Industries Commission to enhance the quality of Qatar products, empower artisans and provide quality products under the 'Made in India' initiative for Qatar products at Kochrab Ashram in Ahmedabad. 
  • This MoU was signed by KVIC Chairman Mr. Mr. Manoj Kumar, Chairman, Indian Standards Group. It was held in the presence of Jacques Shah. Prime Minister Mr. The collaboration between the two organizations aims to create world-class Qatari products as per the vision of Narendra Modi.
  • According to this MoU, the Quality Council of India will assist in various activities including upgradation of quality of Qatar and village industrial products, their productivity and marketing both domestically and internationally. 
  • In addition, it will support the Qatari and Village Industries Authority by empowering Qatari artisans and promoting Qatari products through various media. 
  • Also, this collaboration will give Qatari products a new identity of 'Made in India', which will increase the sales of Qatari products as a sign of quality across the globe. It will provide Qatari artisans with advanced skills knowledge and new employment opportunities with higher productivity and efficiency.
REC MoU with Railway Vikas Nigam
  • The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has signed an MoU to fund up to Rs 35,000 crore for infrastructure projects to be implemented by RVNL over the next 5 years. These projects include multi-modal transport projects, rail infrastructure projects, road, port and RVNL related metro projects.
  • The MoU was signed in the presence of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Finance Division Director Mr. Ajay Chowdhury and RVNL Operations Division Director Mr. Rajesh Prasad.
Introduction of Phase 2 of 'SMART' Program for Ayurvedic Medical Teaching Professionals
  • Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), National Commission for Indian System of Medicine has partnered with Ayurvedic educational institutes, hospitals across the country to promote robust clinical research in 'SMART' (Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurvedic research among academics). Ayurveda Research among Teaching professionals) has launched the 2nd phase of the project.
  • CCRAS is an organization under the Ministry of AYUSH. This organization undertakes the work of developing, coordinating and promoting scientific research in Ayurveda. Already under the first phase of the 'SMART' project, teachers from 38 colleges have participated and conducted extensive research on potent Ayurvedic treatments for 10 diseases.
