• 2023ம் ஆண்டுக்கான தந்தை பெரியார், அம்பேத்கர் விருதுகள் / Periyar Awards 2023 & Ambedkar Awards 2023: தமிழ்நாடு அரசு ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும், சமூகநீதிக்காகப் பாடுபடுபவர்களைச் சிறப்பு செய்யும் வகையில் சமூக நீதிக்கான 'தந்தை பெரியார் விருதினை' வழங்கி கௌரவித்து வருகிறது.
• அந்தவகையில் 2023-ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான சமூகநீதிக்கான 'தந்தை பெரியார் விருது'-க்கு சமூக நீதி கண்காணிப்புக் குழு தலைவர் சுப. வீரபாண்டியன் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

• விருதாளர்களுக்கு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் நாளை விருதுகளை வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கிறார். விருது பெறும் விருதாளர்களுக்கு விருதுத் தொகையாக ரூ.5 லட்சம், தங்கப்பதக்கம் மற்றும் தகுதியுரையும் வழங்கப்படும்.

• தமிழ்ப் பேராசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றி விருப்ப ஓய்வு பெற்ற அவர், கல்லூரியில் பணியாற்றும் பொழுதே தமிழ் தமிழர் இயக்கம் என்னும் அமைப்பை உருவாக்கிச் செயல்பட்டவர் தந்தை பெரியாரின் கொள்கைகளான சமூக நீதி சாதி ஒழிப்பு, ஆதிக்க எதிர்ப்பு தாய்மொழிப் பற்று, பெண் விடுதலை மற்றும் பகுத்தறிவு முதலான கருத்துகளை உறுதியுடன் செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்பதிலும் முனைப்புடன் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறார். சுப. வீரபாண்டியன் கலைமாமணி விருது பெற்றுள்ளதுடன், இதுவரை 54 நூல்களையும் எழுதி வெளியிட்டுள்ளார்.
