World's Largest Ambedkar Statue Unveiled
- Andhra Pradesh is under YSR Congress rule led by Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. In this situation, a statue of Dr. Ambedkar has been erected at the Swaraj Maidan in Vijaya Nata, Andhra Pradesh.
- The statue is 125 feet tall. It is placed on a plinth 81 feet high, so its total height is 206 feet. The area where this statue is erected is named Smriti Vanam. When this statue is unveiled, it will be the largest statue of Ambedkar in the world.
- Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy inaugurated the statue this evening. It is noteworthy that facilities such as parks, mini theatre, museum, food court, water fountains and parking lots have been set up near this Ambedkar statue.
- The Kumbabhishekam of the newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya is going to be held on the 22nd. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Ram Temple on 22nd.
- Important leaders and dignitaries have been invited for this event. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Ram Temple commemorative postage stamps.
- He introduced stamps with images of Ram temple, Sun, Sarayu river and temple sculptures. He also published an album of stamps on Lord Rama from all over the world.
- Prime Minister Mr. In the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Narendra Modi, the Central Medicines Quality Control Organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Union Government, the Drug Evaluation Board between the Ministry of Health Welfare and Sports of the Netherlands, the Health and Youth Welfare Observatory, the Central Committee on Human Research in the field of "Pharmaceutical Products Regulation" A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on November 7, 2023 for cooperation.
- The MoU between the regulatory authorities of the two countries will facilitate better understanding of medical product regulations related to drugs, including pharmaceutical raw materials, biologics, medical devices and cosmetic products.
- The above Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Drug Quality Control Organization (CDSCO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate General of Medicine, Foods and Sanitary Products Systems of the Ministry of Public Health and the Food and Sanitation Organization of the Ministry of Health of the Dominican Republic was chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
- The approval was given in the Union Cabinet meeting held today. This MoU was signed on October 04, 2023 to enhance cooperation in the field of medicinal products regulation.
- The MoU will promote exchange of information and cooperation in areas related to medicinal products. It will also enhance cooperation in relevant administrative and regulatory actions within the jurisdiction of the parties involved. The agreement also stipulates cooperation in curbing the circulation of substandard and counterfeit drugs in international markets.
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 5, 2023 between the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Government of Kenya.
- The MoU aims to promote close cooperation, exchange of experiences and development of digital technology-based solutions in implementing digital transformation initiatives in both countries.
- This MoU shall come into force from the date of signing of this Agreement by both parties and shall remain in force for a period of 3 years.
- Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Narendra Modi approved the Memorandum of Understanding dated 07 November 2023 between Dr. Leopoldo Isquieta Perez from the National Regulatory Agency for Health Control and Surveillance of the Republic of Ecuador, the Central Medicines Quality Control Organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- This MoU will facilitate better understanding of regulatory aspects between the two parties and enhance cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals regulation and better coordination in international organizations.
- Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was held today (18.01.2024). It also approved the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 21 November 2023 between the Government of India and the European Commission for procedures on semiconductor ecosystems, its supply chain and innovation under the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC) programme.
- The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between India and the European Union in promoting the use of semiconductors for the advancement of digital technologies.
- Prime Minister Mr. In the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Narendra Modi, under Article 280 of the Constitution, as per the report issued on December 31, 2023, the 16th Finance Commission approved the creation of three posts at the level of Joint Secretary, i.e. two posts of Joint Secretary and one post of Economic Adviser.
- Those selected for the newly created posts should assist in carrying out the work of the Finance Committee. All other posts of the Board have already been created as per the delegated powers.
- In a meeting of the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today, the South Eastern Coal Fields Company has approved the construction of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 660 MW.
- A proposal to set it up through a joint venture between SECL and MBPGCL has been approved. Similarly, (Mahanadi Coalfields) has also been approved for equity investment for setting up two thermal power plants of 800 MW capacity through Mahanadi Basin Power Limited.
- A 660 MW thermal power plant will be set up at Amarkandak Thermal Power Station at Sachai village in Madhya Pradesh through a joint venture between SECL and MBPGCL at a project cost of Rs 5,600 crore.
- Two 800 MW thermal power plants are proposed in Odisha's Sundargarh district with a project capital of Rs 15,947 crore. In this the share capital of MCL will be Rs 4,784 crore.
- Rural Electrification Corporation, a leading non-banking financial institution under the Union Ministry of Electricity and a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, has been awarded the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's 'Blake' award for the best financial reporting for the financial year 2022-23 in the financial services sector (banking, non-insurance).
- This is the only award given by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India under this category. And selection for the award is based on the company's accounting practices, disclosure policies, submission of financial statements, other information in the annual report, compliance with Indian accounting standards, statutory guidelines and regulations.
