• நாட்டின் பாதுகாப்பான நகரம் 2023 / INDIA'S SAFEST CITY 2023: தேசிய குற்ற ஆவணக் காப்பகத்தின் (NCRB) சமீபத்திய அறிக்கையின்படி, மேற்கு வங்க மாநிலத்தின் தலைநகரான கொல்கத்தா தொடர்ந்து மூன்றாவது ஆண்டாக முதல் இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது. 78.2 என்ற குற்ற விகிதத்துடன் (IPC rate) இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாப்பான நகரமாக நீடிக்கிறது.
• இந்தியாவில் பல நகரங்கள் பாதுகாப்பாக வசிக்கும் அம்சங்களைக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. இந்த நகரங்கள் குறைந்த குற்ற விகிதங்கள் அடிப்படையில் பாதுகாப்பானவை என்று அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவை அங்கு வசிப்பவர்களுக்கு ஒட்டுமொத்த பாதுகாப்பு உணர்வை அளிக்கின்றன.

• கொல்கத்தாவுக்கு அடுத்த 2வது பாதுகாப்பான நகரமான தமிழ்நாட்டின் தலைநகரான சென்னை விளங்குகிறது. சென்னையில் குற்ற விகிதம் 178.5 ஆக உள்ளது. மூன்றாவது இடத்தையும் தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த மற்றொரு நகரமான கோயம்புத்தூர் பிடித்துள்ளது. கோவையில் குற்ற விகிதம் 211.2 ஆக உள்ளது.

• INDIA'S SAFEST CITY 2023: According to the latest report by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Kolkata, the capital of the state of West Bengal, has topped the list for the third year in a row. It remains the safest city in India with a crime rate (IPC rate) of 78.2.
• Many cities in India have safe living features. These cities are identified as safe based on low crime rates. These provide an overall sense of security to the residents there.

• Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is the 2nd safest city after Kolkata. The crime rate in Chennai is 178.5. Coimbatore, another city in Tamil Nadu, has taken the third place. The crime rate in Coimbatore is 211.2.
