First female firefighter
- The government of Bangladesh has said that the recruitment of female firefighters is an effort against gender discrimination. Women have previously worked in the Bangladesh Fire and Rescue Department. However, this was the first time that women were appointed as fire fighters.
- In the program held in the capital Dhaka, 15 female soldiers were inducted into the fire brigade. 2,707 applications have been selected as fire fighters through physical fitness, medical test and written test. He mentioned that 15 people have been appointed in the first phase.
- Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 10 feet tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Darshan near Rajghat, Delhi on 10th December 2023.
