• சர்வதேச மாணவர் தினம் 2023 / INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY 2023: உலகம் முழுவதும் நவம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச மாணவர் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது என்பது நம்மில் எத்தனை பேருக்கு தெரியும்? ஒருவேளை நமக்குத் தெரியாமல் இருக்கலாம் அல்லது நம்மில் சிலர் அதை மற்றொரு கொண்டாட்ட நாளாக மட்டுமே பார்க்கிறோம்.

The history behind celebrating International Students’ Day

• INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY 2023: The date commemorates the anniversary of the 1939 Nazi storming of the University of Prague during World War II. The students’ resisted the German occupation of Czechoslovakia and the killings of Jan Opletal and worker Václav Sedláček.
• As a result, the Nazis rounded up the students, murdered nine student leaders, and sent over 1,200 students to concentration camps. The day is marked to celebrate their courage and vigor.
• Today universities around the world recognize it as a nonpolitical celebration of the multiculturalism of international students.
• The day calls for support to provide safe, secure, and adequate economic, social, and health benefits for the well-being of all students around the world.
