ICC suspended Sri Lankan cricket team
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) regulates the game of cricket worldwide. From the basic rule of a country's cricket team, to the individual rule of an individual cricketer, the seed of the ICC can exist.
- A team must be a full member or associate member of the ICC to play international cricket. Under the terms defined in the ICC, the ICC approves the decisions taken by those countries.
- Violation of the ICC's rules may result in the country losing its ICC membership license as a reward. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board is currently facing a problem due to this violation of the rules.
- The Sri Lankan team has been facing a series of defeats in the current World Cup cricket series due to their poor performance. Unable to accept this, the Sri Lankan government jumped directly into the fray and dissolved the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and temporarily set up a 7-member committee to manage it.
- As the committee was set up outside the rules without consulting the ICC, the ICC immediately ordered the Sri Lankan Cricket Board to be stripped of its membership license for violating the ICC membership rules.
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) selects one player of the month every month. Accordingly, India's Jasprit Bumrah, South Africa's Quinton de Kock and New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra were shortlisted for the October Player of the Month.
- In this case, Rachin Ravindra has won the best player award for October. In the current World Cup cricket series, Rachin Ravindra, who is playing aggressively, has scored 3 centuries in his debut series.
- Also, West Indies' Hayley Mathews, Bangladesh's Nahida Akter and New Zealand's Amelia Kerr have been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month for October. Hayley Mathews of West Indies won the Player of the Year award.
- Annual Naval Education Society (NES) Conference - 2023 was held on 09th and 10th November 2023 at Porbandar, Gujarat with its headquarters. Vice Admiral Mr. Krishna Swaminathan, Vice President, Commodore Mr. G. Rambabu, and administrators of naval schools across the country participated in the conference.
- Implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 was discussed in the Executive Committee, Management Advisory Committee and Education Advisory Committee meetings held as part of the conference.
- For the first time, representatives of Naval Kindergartens from various Naval Stations also participated in the conference.
