History of World Teachers Day Celebration

• WORLD TEACHER'S DAY 2024: The World Teachers’ Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 1994 to commemorate the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
• This recommendation clearly states the standards of education personnel policy, recruitment, initial training, continuing education of teachers, their employment and working conditions. The World Teachers’ Day acts as an instrument to address the status and situations of teachers around the world.

• WORLD TEACHER'S DAY 2024: The World Teacher Day will be celebrated on October 5 with events and campaigns organized all around the world. Every year UNESCO and Education International (EI) come with a theme every year that states the agenda for the Teacher’s Day celebration and every celebration revolves around this theme.
