உலக தேங்காய் தினம் 2023 / WORLD COCUNUT DAY 2023: உலக தேங்காய் தினத்தை கொண்டாடுவதற்கான பிரகடனம் 2009 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஆசிய மற்றும் பசிபிக் தென்னை சமூகத்தால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
1969 ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே நாளில் சமூகம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டதன் ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் குறிக்கும் வகையில் தேதி தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
APCC ஆனது ஆசிய-பசிபிக் பிராந்தியத்தில் தென்னை தொழில்துறையின் செயல்பாடுகளை ஊக்குவிக்கிறது மற்றும் நிர்வகிக்கிறது. எனவே முதல் உலக தேங்காய் தினம் 2 செப்டம்பர் 2009 அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது, அன்றிலிருந்து ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

History of World Coconut Day Observation
WORLD COCUNUT DAY 2023: The declaration to celebrate World Coconut Day was adopted by Asian and Pacific Coconut Community in 2009. The date was chosen to mark the anniversary of formation of the community on the same day in 1969.
APCC promotes and manages the activities of the coconut industry in the Asia-pacific region. The first World Coconut Day was therefore observed on 2 September 2009 and is observed every year since then.
Asian and Pacific Coconut Community
WORLD COCUNUT DAY 2023: The Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) is an intergovernmental organization that comprises of the Asian-Pacific coconut producing states. The motive of this organization is to “promote, coordinate and harmonize all activities of the coconut industry”.
It was earlier known as Asian Coconut C but when states outside Asia started joining the organization, the name was changed to Asian and Pacific Coconut Community. The member states of the APCC produce more than 90 per cent of the world’s total coconut production and handle their export.

WORLD COCUNUT DAY 2023: The Agreement establishing the Asian Coconut Community was established in Bangkok on 12 December 1968 and signed by the countries of India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
After its approval, the Asian Coconut Community came into existence on 9 September 1969 with headquarter in Jakarta.
