• கலைஞர் கருணாநிதி செம்மொழி தமிழ் விருது 2023 / KALAIGNAR KARUNANIDHI SEMMOZHI TAMIL AWARD 2023: மறைந்த முன்னாள் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதியின் முயற்சியால், தமிழ்மொழியானது 2004-ம் ஆண்டு செம்மொழியாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து செம்மொழி தமிழுக்கென ஒரு நிறுவனம் தொடங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று அவர் வலியுறுத்தியதால், 2006-ல் இந்திய மொழிகளுக்கான மத்திய நிறுவனத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமாக இந்நிறுவனம் அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
• பின்னர் 2008-ம் ஆண்டில் செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனம் என தன்னாட்சி பெற்ற நிறுவனமாகச் சென்னையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவராக தமிழக முதல்வர் உள்ளார். 
• இந்நிறுவனத்தில் முன்னாள் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி, தனது சொந்த நிதி ரூ.1 கோடியை வைப்புத் தொகையாக வைத்து, 'கலைஞர் கருணாநிதி செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு அறக்கட்டளை'யை நிறுவினார்.
• இந்த அறக்கட்டளை மூலம், ஆண்டுதோறும் 'கலைஞர் கருணாநிதி செம்மொழி தமிழ் விருது' வழங்கப்படுகிறது. நாட்டிலேயே உயரிய வகையில் ரூ,10 லட்சம் பரிசுத் தொகையும், பாராட்டுச் சான்றிதழும், கருணாநிதியின் உருவச்சிலையும் வழங்கப்படும்.
• இந்நிலையில், 2023-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான விருதுக்கு, அரியலூர் மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த, இந்திய மொழிகளின் மத்திய நிறுவனத்தின் முன்னாள் துணை இயக்குநரும், செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு நிறுவனத்தின் முன்னாள் பொறுப்பு அலுவலருமான க.ராமசாமி தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார். இதைத்தொடர்ந்து, க.ராமசாமிக்கு விருதை முதல்வர் வழங்கினார்.
• இதையடுத்து, செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தின் தொல்காப்பியமும் சங்க இலக்கியமும், பண்டைய தமிழ் செவ்விலக்கியங்களும் நடுகற்களும், மணிமேகலை வழக்குச் சொல்லகராதி, சங்க இலக்கியத்தில் கடல் வணிகமும் பண்பாட்டுப் பரிமாற்றங்களும் ஆகிய நூல்களை முதல்வர் வெளியிட்டார்.
• இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் அமைச்சர் மு.பெ.சாமிநாதன், தலைமைச்செயலர் சிவ்தாஸ் மீனா, தமிழ்வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் செய்தித் துறை செயலர் ஆர். செல்வராஜ், தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறை இயக்குநர் அவ்வை அருள், செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவன துணைத் தலைவர் இ.சுந்தரமூர்த்தி, இயக்குநர் இரா.சந்திரசேகரன் உள்ளிட் டோர் பங்கேற்றனர்.

• KALAIGNAR KARUNANIDHI SEMMOZHI TAMIL AWARD 2023: Due to the efforts of the late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Tamil was declared the official language in 2004. Subsequently, he insisted that an institute should be started for classical Tamil, and in 2006, the institute was established as a part of the Central Institute for Indian Languages.
• Later in 2008, Central Institute of Classical Tamil Studies was established as an autonomous institute in Chennai. The chief minister of Tamil Nadu is the chairman of this company. Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi deposited his own funds of Rs.1 crore in this institution and established the 'Kalaingar Karunanidhi Semmozhi Tamil Studies Foundation'.
• Through this foundation, 'Kalaignar Karunanidhi Semmozhi Tamil Award' is awarded annually. A prize money of Rs.10 lakhs, a certificate of appreciation and a statue of Karunanidhi will be awarded, the highest in the country.
• In this case, K. Ramasamy, the former deputy director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages and the former officer-in-charge of the Classical Tamil Studies Institute, from Ariyalur district, was selected for the award for the year 2023. Following this, the Chief Minister presented the award to K. Ramasamy.
• Subsequently, the chief minister published the books Tolkappiyam and Sangam literature, Ancient Tamil sevvilakyas and nadukath, Manimekalai case dictionary, Sea trade and cultural exchange in Sangam literature by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil Studies.
• In this event, Minister MU Saminathan, Chief Secretary Sivdas Meena, Tamil Development and Information Department Secretary R. Selvaraj, Tamil Development Department Director Avvai Arul, Semmozhi Tamil Research Center Vice Chairman E. Sundharamurthy, Director I. Chandrasekaran and others participated in the tor.
