Eugene Diamond League Tournament - Silver for Neeraj Chopra
- The javelin final was held today (September 17) in Eugene City, Oregon, USA. Of which 83.80 m. He took the second place in the long throw. In first place, Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch cleared 84.24m in his final attempt. He won gold in long throw.
- Finland's Oliver Hellander finished third with a throw of 83.74. Adrian Martare (81.79m), Curtis Thompson (77.01m) and Anderson Peters (74.71m) finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
- The Central Government has approved the establishment of 100 new Sainik Schools from 6th to 1st class in collaboration with NGOs/Private Schools/State Governments.
- Under this initiative, the Association of Sainik Schools has signed MoUs with 19 new Sainik schools located across the country. With this initiative, the number of new Sainik schools working in partnership under the Sainik School Association has gone up to 42.
- The awards were presented at the Sangeet Natak Akademi Amrit Awards Ceremony held in Delhi. 70 male artists and 14 female artists above the age of 75 received these awards. This award was given to 4 artists from Tamil Nadu. They were presented with a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh and an award certificate.
- Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar presented the awards. 6 artistes from Maharashtra, 5 artists each from Assam and Rajasthan received the award. 4 artistes each from Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Manipur received the award.
