பிரைட் ப்ராஜெக்ட் / PRIDE PROJECT: இந்தியாவில் 5 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட திருநங்கைகள் இருக்கின்றனர். இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலும் தனது சொந்த முயற்சியால் முன்னேறி வருகின்றனர்.
அவர்களுக்கு வேலை வாய்ப்பினை ஏற்படுத்தும் முயற்சியில் 'பிரைட் ப்ராஜெக்ட்' என்ற புதிய திட்டத்தினை கேரள அரசு அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
இந்தியாவில் தனியார் நிறுவனங்கள் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கு வேலை வழங்குவதில் தயக்கம் காட்டுகின்றன. அதற்காக மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்காக தனியாக ஒரு ஆணையத்தை மத்திய அரசு உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.
இதன்மூலமாக மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் வேலைவாய்ப்பை பெறுகின்றனர். அதே போல் திருநங்கைகளும் தனியார் நிறுவனங்களால் புறக்கணிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் இதுவரை அவர்களுக்காக ஆணையம் உருவாக்கப்படவில்லை.
தமிழ்நாட்டில் 2015-ம் ஆண்டு திமுக மாநிலங்களவை உறுப்பினர் திருச்சி சிவா திருநங்கைகள் பாதுக்காப்புக்காக தனிநபர் மசோதாவை அறிமுகம் செய்தார்.
இதுவே தமிழ்நாட்டின் அமைக்கப்பட்ட முதல் திருநங்கைகள் மேம்பட்டு வாரியம் ஆகும். அதன்பிறகு கேரளம் உட்பட 11 மாநிலங்களில் இந்த வாரியம் அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
கேரள அரசு தொடர்ந்து திருநங்கைகளுக்கான வாழ்கை தரத்தை உயர்த்தும் வகையில் முன்னெடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளை செயல்படுத்தி வருகிறது.
அந்த வகையில் இந்த 'பிரைட் ப்ராஜக்ட்' திட்டமானது திருநங்கைகள் சமூகத்திற்கு சுயதொழில் தொடங்குவதற்கும் மேலும் மற்றவர்களைப்போன்று அவர்களுக்கும் வேலைவாய்ப்பினை வழங்குவதற்கும் முக்கியமானதாக இருக்கும்.
இந்த திட்டமானது திருநங்கைகள் சமூகத்தினருக்கான பொருளாதாரத்தை மேம்படுத்த உதவியாக இருக்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

PRIDE PROJECT: There are more than 5 lakh transgender people in India. Most of them are progressing through their own efforts. Kerala Government has introduced a new scheme called 'Pride Project' in an effort to create employment opportunities for them.
Private companies in India are reluctant to provide jobs to people with disabilities. For this, the central government has created a separate commission for differently abled persons. Through this, differently abled people get employment.
Likewise transgenders are neglected by private companies. But so far no commission has been created for them.
In Tamil Nadu in 2015, DMK Rajya Sabha member Trichy Siva introduced an individual bill for the protection of transgenders.
This is Tamil Nadu's first Transgender Development Board. After that this board was constituted in 11 states including Kerala.
The Government of Kerala is continuously implementing initiatives to improve the quality of life for transgender people.
In that way this 'Pride Project' will be important for the transgender community to start self-employment and provide them with employment like others. The project is expected to help improve the economy of the transgender community.
