India provided warships to Vietnam
- Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia. The northern part of the country is bordered by China. To the east is the South China Sea. China and Vietnam have long-standing disputes over the border region and the South China Sea.
- Due to this, war broke out between the two countries in 1979. At that time, India provided various military assistance to Vietnam. INS Kirban has been gifted to Vietnam Navy by India. In 1991, the Kirban was incorporated into the Indian Navy. 12 officers and 100 sailors worked in this warship with a weight of 1,450 tons, length of 90 meters and width of 10.45 meters. It is equipped with advanced missiles and destructive weapons.
- Indian Navy Commander Harikumar handed over the warship INS Kirban to the Vietnamese Navy in a ceremony held at the Naval Base in Cam Ranh, Vietnam.
