CV Deepak appointed as Chennai Airport Director

  • Sarath Kumar, who was the Director of Chennai Airport, was transferred to the head office in Delhi at the end of last April.
  • In this case, CV Deepak has been appointed as the Director of Chennai Airport. Deepak was previously working as General Manager (Finance & Accounts) in the Taxation Division at the Delhi headquarters.
Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR University appoints new Vice-Chancellor
  • Sudha Seshayan's tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University ends with December 2021. His term was extended for another year and he retired in December 2022. Since then the post of Vice-Chancellor was vacant, the post has now been filled.
  • For this purpose 3 persons were considered and the related list was brought to the attention of the Governor. Following this, Dr. K. Narayanasamy, who has been working as the Principal of Kilpakkam Government Medical College Hospital, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of MGR Medical University.
  • MGR Narayanasamy, who has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the Medical University, will hold office for 3 years. Narayanasamy will take over as Vice Chancellor in a couple of days. Governor R.Ran.Ravi gave the work order to K.Narayanasamy in person.
IPL CRICKET - 5 times CSK champions
  • 16th IPL cricket matches started on March 31 and were held in major cities of India. Defending champions Gujarat Titans and former champions Chennai Super Kings entered the finals at the end of the league and 'play-off' rounds of this 10-team 20-over cricket tournament. 
  • As the final match between Gujarat and Chennai started, the Chennai team won the toss and chose to bowl first. At the end of 20 overs, Gujarat team accumulated 214 runs for 4 wickets. The Chennai team went into bat with the Himalayan target of victory if they score 215 runs.
  • By then the rain had started and the over was reduced. Accordingly, the target for the Chennai team was changed to 171 runs in 15 overs.
  • Chennai scored 171 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 15 overs. Thrill tasted victory and captured the trophy. This is the 5th time Chennai won the IPL trophy. It is noteworthy that Mumbai Indians have equaled the record of winning the trophy 5 times.
Agreement with 6 companies worth Rs.818 crore in Tokyo in the presence of Chief Minister Stalin
  • Chief Minister Stalin has gone to Singapore and Japan as an official visit to attract investments and invite them to participate in the World Investors Conference to be held in Tamil Nadu in January 2024.
  • After completing his trip to Singapore, he has gone to Japan, where he is meeting investors and executives and high officials of Japanese companies.
  • In this context, Chief Minister Stalin participated in the investors' conference organized by the Japan Foreign Trade Organization (JETRO) in Tokyo.
  • Following this, in the presence of Chief Minister Stalin, the Tamil Nadu Business Mentoring Institute has entered into MoUs for an investment of Rs 818.90 crore with 6 industrial companies from Japan.
  • Agreement with Kyokuto Satrock to set up a new plant for manufacturing truck components at an investment of Rs.113.90 crore at Chipkot Industrial Park in Mambakkam, Kanchipuram District on 13 acres.
  • 155 crore agreement with Mitsubishi India for expansion of two and four wheeler parts manufacturing plant at Kummidipoondi Chipkot Industrial Park, Thiruvallur district.
  • Agreement with Shimizu to carry out construction, construction engineering and related business in Tamil Nadu.
  • An agreement with Koei, a joint venture company of Ballyhos, to set up a factory at an investment of Rs 200 crore to manufacture extrusion lines for polycarbonate sheet, roofing systems, electronic components used in the construction industry.
  • Agreement with Satoshoji Metal Works to set up a factory for manufacturing high quality steel parts used in aerospace, defense and construction equipment sector with an investment of Rs.200 crore.
  • 150 crore deal with Duffle to set up a plant to manufacture stainless steel flexible hoses for solar, steel mills, aerospace, semiconductor industries.
Modi inaugurated the Vande Bharat train between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri
  • The central government, which is engaged in the modernization of the railway sector of our country, introduced the high-speed Vande Bharat train in 2019. While 17 Vande Bharat trains have been launched so far, the 18th train service was launched yesterday. 
  • Prime Minister Modi flagged off the train service from Guwahati in the northeastern state of Assam to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal through a 'video conference'. Central Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and others participated in the event at Guwahati railway station.
Praveen Kumar Srivastava takes over as Central Anti-Corruption Commissioner

'GSLV' - F12 rocket successfully launched
  • As obtaining information on spatial data known as 'navigation' is essential for the development of the country, India is involved in the production of navigation satellites in collaboration with central research institutes ISRO.
  • Accordingly NVS-01 satellite has been identified. NVS-01 Satellite Navigation is the first of the second generation satellites. It is planned to be in geostationary orbit at an altitude of 36,000 km.
  • It was launched on a GSLV-F12 rocket from the Satish Dhawan launch pad in Sriharikota at 10:42 am on Monday, May 29.
  • It is said that through this, it is possible to get the necessary data for marine location, agricultural land detection, disaster management, navigation facility for mobile phones, government institutions, financial institutions, power industry companies.
