Suspension of 12-hour work bill - Chief Minister M.K.Stal's announcement
  • In a statement issued by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, "Various aspects that can protect the welfare of workers" were passed in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on 21-4-2023 on the "Industries (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Bill 2023 (Legislature Bill No. 8/2023)" in Tamil Nadu.

  • Although there are various features in this Act that can protect the welfare of workers, based on the views expressed by some trade unions, yesterday (24-4-2023) at the Chief Secretariat, Minister of Public Works and Highways, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Minister of Labor Welfare and Skill Development, Chief Secretary The top officials included consulted with union representatives.
  • Accordingly, based on the views expressed by various trade union representatives and political parties on the bill passed in the assembly, the action on the bill titled "Industries (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Bill 2023 (Assembly Bill No.8/2023)" is suspended.   • Subsequently, two aircraft of the Indian Air Force have been kept on standby in Saudi Arabia. An Indian Navy ship has also rushed there. Regarding this, Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said in his 'Twitter' post, 'More than 500 Indians have arrived at the port of Sudan through Operation Cauvery. 
  • Arrangements have been made for them to return to their homeland in our country's ships and planes. Meanwhile, the government of Saudi Arabia rescued 66 people, including three Indians, from Sudan yesterday. In this case, the French government rescued people from 27 countries, including some Indians.
