• ராணுவத்திற்கு அதிகம் செலவிடும் நாடுகள் பட்டியல் 2023 / LIST OF COUNTRIES THAT SPEND MOST ON MILITARY 2023: உலக நாடுகள் தங்கள் நாட்டையும் மக்களையும் பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வதற்காக பலம் வாய்ந்த ராணுவத்தை வைத்திருக்க வேண்டியது கட்டாயமாகவுள்ளது.
• சில நாடுகள் ராணுவத்தை பயன்படுத்துவதற்கே வாய்ப்பே இல்லாமல் அமைதியுடன் வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றன. ஆனால் சில நாடுகள் பல்வேறு அச்சுறுத்தலகளால் ராணுவத்திற்கு பெரிய அளவிலான தொகையை செலிவட வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்தில் இருக்கின்றன.
• அந்த வகையில் அண்டை நாடுகளின் தொடர் அச்சுறுத்தல் காரணமாக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட அளவிலான பெரிய தொகையை இந்தியா ராணுவத்திற்கு செலவிட்டு வருகிறது. இந்த தொகை ஆண்டுக்கு ஆண்டு கூடிக் கொண்டு தான் வருகிறது.
• ஒரு பக்கம் பாகிஸ்தான், மறுபக்கம் சீனா என அணு ஆயுதங்கள் வைத்திருக்கும் இரண்டு அண்டை நாடுகளின் அச்சுறுத்தல்களில் இருந்து தற்காத்துக் கொள்வதற்காக இந்தியா ராணுவத்தை பலம் வாய்ந்ததாக வைத்திருக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம்.
• அதன்படி கடந்த 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டு ராணுவத்திற்காக அதிகம் செலவு செய்த நாடுகள் வரிசையில் இந்தியா நான்காம் இடத்தில் உள்ளது. அமெரிக்கா முதலிடத்திலும், சீனா இரண்டாம் இடத்திலும், ரஷ்யா மூன்றாமிடத்திலும் இருக்கின்றன. 
• சவுதி அரேபியா ஐந்தாவது இடத்தில் இருக்கிறது. ஒட்டுமொத்த உலக நாடுகளின் ராணுவச் செலவுகளில் இந்த ஐந்து நாடுகளின் பங்களிப்பு மட்டும் 63 சதவீதம்.
• எல்லைப்பகுதியில் சீனா தொடர்ந்து அத்துமீறி வருவதால் எல்லையிலும் உள்நாட்டிலும் பாதுகாப்பை இந்தியா பலப்படுத்தி வருகிறது. இந்தியா கடந்த ஆண்டு தனது ராணுவத்திற்காக 81.4 பில்லியன் டாலர் செலவிட்டுள்ளது. 
• இது 2021-ஐ விட 6 விழுக்காடு அதிகமாகவும், 2013-ஐ விட 47 விழுக்காடு அதிகம் என்றும் ஸ்டாக்ஹோம் இன்டர்நேஷனல் பீஸ் ரிசர்ச் இன்டிடியூட் (சிப்ரி) தனது அறிக்கையில் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.
• கிழக்கு லடாக்கில் எல்லைக்கட்டுப்பாட்டு கோட்டுப் பகுதியில் ஏற்படும் மோதலே இந்த ராணுவ செலவின அதிகரிப்பிற்கு முக்கிய காரணம் என்று சிப்ரி அறிக்கை சுட்டிக் காட்டியுள்ளது. 
• ஆயுதப் படைகளுக்கான உபகரணங்களை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும், சீனாவுடனான சர்ச்சைக்குரிய எல்லையில் ராணுவ உள்கட்டமைப்பை வலுப்படுத்துவதற்கும் 2022-ல் இந்தியா அதன் மொத்த ராணுவச் செலவில் 23 விழுக்காடு செலிவு செய்துள்ளது.
• இந்தியாவை விட சீனா தொடர்ந்து பாதுகாப்புக்காக அதிக செலவு செய்து வருகிறது. 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டில், சீனாவின் இராணுவச் செலவு 292 பில்லியன் டாலர்களை எட்டியது என்று சிப்ரி அறிக்கை கூறுகிறது. 
• இந்திய ராணுவ பட்ஜெட்டில் சம்பளம் மற்றும் ஓய்வூதியங்கள்தான் மிகப்பெரிய செலவினப் பிரிவாக உள்ளது என்றும் சிப்ரி அறிக்கையில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மொத்த உலகளாவிய இராணுவச் செலவு 3.7 விழுக்காடு அதிகரித்து, 2,240 பில்லியன் டாலர் என்ற புதிய உச்சத்தைத் தொட்டடுள்ளது. உக்ரைன் மீதான ரஷ்யாவின் படையெடுப்பு கடந்த ஆண்டு செலவினங்களின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு ஒரு முக்கிய காரணியாக இருந்துள்ளது.
• 2023-பிப்ரவரி மாதம் மத்திய பட்ஜெட் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டது. அப்போது நடப்பாண்டில் பாதுகாப்பிற்காக 5.93 லட்சம் கோடி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்படும் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. 
• இது கடந்த ஆண்டு ராணுவத்திற்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட நிதியை விட கிட்டத்தட்ட 12% அதிகம். 2023-24ஆம் நிதியாண்டின் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படும் ஒட்டு மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியில் (ஜிடிபி) ராணுவத்திற்கான ஒதுக்கீடு 2 விழுக்காடு ஆகும்.
• அதே போல் உலக அளவில் ராணுவ தளவாட இறக்குமதியில் இந்தியா தொடர்ந்து முன்னிலையில் இருக்கிறது. உலக ஆயுத இறக்குமதியில் இந்தியாவின் பங்கு கடந்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளில் அதிகபட்சமாக 11 விழுக்காடாக இருந்துள்ளது. 
• அதிகப்படியான ராணுவத் தளவாடங்களை இந்தியா இறக்குமதி செய்தாலும், மேக் இன் இந்தியா திட்டத்தின் மூலம் ராணுவ தளவாடங்களை உள் நாட்டிலேயே தயாரிப்பதிலும் இந்தியா முனைப்பு காட்டி வருவது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
• இறக்குமதி செய்ய முடியாத நூற்றுக்கணக்கான ஆயுதங்கள் மற்றும் தளவாடங்களை ஆத்மநிர்பார் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அடுத்த 5 முதல் 6 ஆண்டுகளில் உள்நாட்டிலேயே உருவாக்கவும் இந்தியா திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

• LIST OF COUNTRIES THAT SPEND MOST ON MILITARY 2023:  It is imperative for countries of the world to have a strong military to protect their country and people. Some countries live in peace without resorting to military force. But some countries are forced to spend huge amounts of money on their military due to various threats.
• India spends a certain amount of money on its military every year due to constant threats from neighboring countries. This amount is accumulating year after year. India needs to keep its military strong to defend itself against threats from two nuclear-armed neighbours, Pakistan on one side and China on the other.
• Accordingly, in the year 2022, India is at the fourth place in the list of countries that have spent the most on military. America is in first place, China is in second place and Russia is in third place. Saudi Arabia is in fifth place. These five countries alone account for 63 percent of the world's military expenditure.
• India has been beefing up its security along the border as well as internally as China continues to encroach on the border. India spent $81.4 billion on its military last year. This is 6 percent more than in 2021 and 47 percent more than in 2013, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (CIPR) said in its report.
• The Sibri report pointed out that the main reason for this increase in military spending was the conflict along the Line of Control in eastern Ladakh. India has cut 23 percent of its total military spending by 2022 to upgrade equipment for the armed forces and strengthen military infrastructure along the disputed border with China.
• China continues to spend more on defense than India. By 2022, China's military spending will reach $292 billion, according to the Sibri report. Salaries and pensions are the largest expenditure item in the Indian military budget, according to the Sibri report.
• Total global military spending is projected to increase by 3.7 percent in 2022, reaching a new high of $2.24 billion. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has been a major factor in the growth of spending over the past year.
• 2023-The Union Budget was presented in February. Then it was announced that 5.93 lakh crore will be allocated for defense in the current year. This is almost 12% more than last year's allocation for the military. The allocation for the military is 2 percent of the expected gross domestic product (GDP) for the fiscal year 2023-24.
• Similarly, India continues to lead the world in the import of military equipment. India's share of global arms imports has been a high of 11 percent in the last five years. Although India imports most of its military equipment, it is noteworthy that India is also showing efforts to manufacture military equipment domestically through the Make in India program.
• India plans to indigenously manufacture hundreds of weapons and equipment that cannot be imported in the next 5 to 6 years under the Atman Nirbar programme.
