100th G20 meeting under India's G20 chairmanship in Varanasi
- The G20 under India's leadership has achieved a major milestone by hosting the 100th G20 meeting. The 100th G20 meeting under India's G20 chairmanship is the Chief Scientists of Agriculture meeting in Varanasi.
- The 2nd Health Task Force Meeting was held in Goa, the 2nd Digital Economy Task Force Meeting was held in Hyderabad and the Pre-Introduction Meeting for Space Economy Leaders was held in Shillong.
- During the G20 Bali Summit held on 16 November 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the G20 leadership. India's one-year G20 chairmanship will commence on 1 December 2022 and will last until 30 November 2023.
- Earlier on 8 November 2022, the Prime Minister proposed the G20 logo and the theme of the G20 leadership was "Vasudeiva Kutumbakam - One Earth, One Family, One Future". The G20 emblem, created with the colors of our national flag, is meant to express our pro-Earth approach and development in the face of various challenges.
- Taiwan-based Bao Chen Corporation is a world leader in footwear manufacturing. The company is a contract manufacturer for world renowned footwear companies. High Glory Footwear India Pvt Ltd, a member of Bau Sen Group, is planning to set up a footwear manufacturing plant at Chipgat Ulundurpet Industrial Park, Kalakurichi District, with an investment of Rs 2,302 crore over the next 12 years and employment for 20,000 people.
- The Memorandum of Understanding for this project was signed between the Government of Tamil Nadu and High Glory Put Wear India Private Limited in the presence of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin at the Chief Secretariat, Chennai.
- Notably, the scheme is inspired by the release of the Tamil Nadu Footwear and Leather Products Policy 2022 by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in August last year. Also, on the basis that industrial development should be widespread throughout the state, this MoU has also been made to benefit the government's efforts to attract investments in backward districts.
- Annual inflation rate based on wholesale price index in India for March 2023 is 1.34 percent (provisional). It was 3.85 percent in February 2023. Inflation rate declined in March 2023 due to lower prices of base metals, food products, textiles, non-food products, mineral resources, rubber and plastic products, crude petroleum, natural gas, sheets and paper products.
- In January 2023, the All Commodities Index stood at 150.7 and the inflation rate was 4.80%. In February 2023, the All Commodity Index was 150.9% and the inflation rate was 3.85%. In March 2023, the All Commodity Index was 150.9% and the inflation rate was 1.34%.
