What are the uses of this action?

• CALL BEFORE U DIG APP: A mobile app called Call Before u Dig (CBuD) has been developed by the Ministry of Telecom and Communications to prevent damage to underground assets like optical fiber cables.
• Unpremeditated pitting causes an annual cost of nearly Rs. The Bureau of Press Information had reported a loss of Rs 3000 crore. The app will help reduce economic losses to citizens due to disruptions in essential services like roads, telecom, water, gas and electricity.

• CALL BEFORE U DIG APP: CBuD is an app that enables drilling companies to proactively communicate with owners of underground resources through SMS/e-mail and click-to-call facilities. This ensures the safety of underground materials.
• It also enables companies to inquire about existing subsurface materials before digging a hole in a particular location.
• In this way, the owners of underground goods can also know in advance about the work to be done in their area.
