பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட சாதிகள் மற்றும் பழங்குடியினர் (வன்கொடுமைகள் தடுப்பு) சட்டம், 1989 / SCHEDULED CASTES & SCHEDULED TRIBES (PREVENTION OF ATROCITIES) ACT, 1989

• பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட சாதிகள் மற்றும் பழங்குடியினர் (வன்கொடுமைகள் தடுப்பு) சட்டம், 1989 / Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989: பட்டியல் சாதிகள் மற்றும் பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட பழங்குடியினர் (அட்டூழியங்கள் தடுப்பு) சட்டம், 1989 செயல்படுத்த மாநிலங்கள் / யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களுக்கு உதவி வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
• இந்தச் சட்டங்களை செயல்படுத்த மாநிலங்கள்/ யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களுக்கு நிதி உதவி வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
• சாதித் திருமணங்கள், விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்துதல், பிரத்யேக சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றங்கள் அமைத்தல் போன்றவை. பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட சாதிகள் மற்றும் பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட பழங்குடியினர் (வன்கொடுமைகள் தடுப்பு) திருத்தச் சட்டம், 2015 (எண். 2016) 01.01.2016 அன்று இந்திய அரசிதழில் (அசாதாரண) அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. திருத்தப்பட்ட சட்டம் 26.01.2016 முதல் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தது.
• வன்கொடுமைகளால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு நிவாரணத் தொகையை ரூ.75,000/- முதல் ரூ.75,000 வரை உயர்த்துவதற்காக ஜூன் 2014 இல் PoA விதிகள் திருத்தப்பட்டன. 
• 7,50,000/- குற்றத்தின் தன்மையைப் பொறுத்து. பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட சாதிகள் மற்றும் பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட பழங்குடியினர் (அட்டூழியங்களைத் தடுத்தல்) விதிகள், 1995 ஆகிய முதன்மை விதிகளில் செய்யப்பட்ட மேலும் திருத்தம், பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட சாதிகள் மற்றும் பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட பழங்குடியினர் (வன்கொடுமைகளைத் தடுத்தல்) திருத்த விதிகள், ஏப்ரல் 14, 2016 இல் இந்தியாவில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• Assistance is provided to States/ UTs for implementation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. Financial assistance is provided to the States/ UTs for implementation of these Acts, by way of relief to atrocity victims, incentive for inter-caste marriages, awareness generation, setting up of exclusive Special courts, etc. 
• Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015 (No. 1 of 2016) was notified in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) on 01.01.2016. The Amended Act came into force w.e.f 26.01.2016.
• PoA Rules were amended in June 2014 for enhancing the relief amount to the victims of atrocities to become between Rs.75,000/- to Rs. 7,50,000/- depending upon the nature of an offence. 
• Further Amendment done in the Principal Rules namely the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Rules, 1995 by the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Rules, 2016 have been notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary on 14th April, 2016.
