Veer Guardian 2023

  • The Indian Air Force and the Japanese Air Force are engaged in joint combat training in Japan under the name 'Veer Guardian 2023'.
  • The exercise will be held for 10 days from January 16 to 26 at Japan's Hyaguri Air Force Base and the nearby airspaces of Omitama and Iruma Air Force Base in Sayama.
  • There are currently 3 female fighter pilots serving in the Air Force. One of them, Avani Chaturvedi, is soon to go to Japan to participate in the Air Force Combat Exercise of the two countries. He is a pilot of Russia's Sukhoi SU-30MKI fighter jet.
  • Already, foreign air forces, including the French Air Force, have come to India for combat training. Women pilots of the Indian Air Force have participated in those exercises. But this is the first time that an Indian woman pilot is participating in an air force combat exercise abroad.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched caste-wise census in Bihar
  • There has been a long-standing demand for a caste-wise census in Bihar. For this, a resolution was unanimously passed in the state legislative assembly in 2018 and 2019.
  • Following this, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the caste-wise survey in Patna yesterday. The Bihar government has earmarked Rs.500 crore for this survey work.
  • According to this, the caste wise census work is going to be conducted in 2 phases. In the first phase of the work till 21st, the number of all the families will be counted.
  • Subsequently, in the 2nd phase of the census in March, information on caste, sub-division, religion and economic status of all the people is to be collected.
  • A mobile application has been developed for this survey work and various questions will be asked in it and the details will be collected in digital form. The survey work is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
7th Digital India Awards
  • President Drabupati Murmu presented the awards at the 7th Digital India Awards in New Delhi on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the President said, “Digital India Awards 2022 recognizes and encourages not only government organizations but also startups to fulfill the promise of the Digital India movement.
  • e-NAM, an initiative of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, has won the Platinum Award in the Digital Empowerment of Citizens category at the Digital India Awards 2022 held in New Delhi today.
  • President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, presented the Digital India Awards 2022.
  • In the presence of Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Railways Mr. Ashwini Vaishnav, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi received this award
  • E-NAM helps farmers achieve better remunerative prices for their produce by facilitating online trading of 203 agricultural and horticultural products by integrating 1260 APMC mandis across 22 states and 3 union territories.
  • It promotes digital transformation of mandi operations and e-commerce of agricultural products. As on 31.12.2022, more than 1.74 crore farmers and 2.39 lakh traders have registered on e-NAM portal. Rs. A total trade of 69 million metric tonnes valued at ₹2.42 lakh crore was recorded on the e-NAM platform.
  • Digital India Awards are established by the Union Ministry of IT and IT under the National Portal of India to promote and honor innovative digital solutions/exemplary initiatives by various government agencies in the field of digital governance.
  • The Digital India Awards 2022 aims to incentivize not only government agencies but also startups in fulfilling the Digital India vision. Digital India Awards were presented under 7 different categories.
China signed a deal with the Taliban to extract oil from Afghanistan
  • China has entered into an agreement to take oil from oil depots controlled by the Taliban on a contractual basis.
  • Afghanistan's Minister of Mines and Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Delaware Central Asia Petroleum and Gas Co (CAPEIC) official Xinjiang Afghanistan capital of this contract event was held in Kabul. In this, a 25-year oil trade agreement was signed between Afghanistan and China.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the 'Gauriyamma Award' to Seguera's daughter
  • On behalf of the KR Gauriamma Trust in Kerala, it was decided to present the 'KR Gauriamma International Award' and a committee was formed to recommend the award. Former Kerala Education Minister MA Baby and Member of Parliament Binay Viswam are included in this committee.
  • Aleida Guevara, daughter of world-renowned Cuban revolutionary and children's rights activist, has been selected as the first recipient of the 'KR Gouriamma International Award'. The award ceremony was held last Thursday in Thiruvananthapuram under the chairmanship of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
  • Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan honored Seguera's daughter Aleida Guevara with the first 'Kauriyamma International Award' on the occasion. Along with the award, the Kerala Chief Minister also presented a prize money of 3000 US dollars. 
  • It is noteworthy that late KR Gauriamma was a well-known Marxist communist activist in Kerala and was inducted into the first Cabinet of the Government of Kerala.
