Rs 4,670 crore through Women's IPL auction - BCCI
  • The auction for the teams participating in the women's IPL T20 cricket series was held in Mumbai. The teams representing Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Lucknow are competing in WIPL.
  • The women's IPL auction was held as a follow-up. In which the Ahmedabad team was paid Rs. 1,289 crore bought by Adani Group.
  • The Mumbai team was bought by India Sports Company for Rs.912.99 crore, the Royal Challengers Company bought the Bengaluru team for Rs.901 crore, and the Delhi team was bought by JSW GMR Company for Rs.810 crore. Capri Global Holdings Group has bought the Lucknow team for Rs 757 crore.
  • 4669.99 crores have been collected by the teams through the auctions of the WIPL, which is more than the amount received when the Men's IPL started in 2008.
Supreme Court judgment in 4 languages including Tamil from August 15
  • Recently, an online search software was introduced to allow the search of the computerized files of the Delhi High Court. 
  • Supreme Court Chief Justice TY Chandrachud, who participated in the program, said: 99.9% of people cannot easily understand judgments in English. If the Supreme Court or the High Court does not deliver judgments in languages that the public can speak and understand, the service of the judiciary will become meaningless.
  • Therefore, it has been decided to translate the Supreme Court judgments published in English into 4 regional languages namely Tamil, Hindi, Gujarati and Odia and upload them on the court website from August 15.
  • A committee headed by Justice AS Oka has been constituted to look after the work related to the translation of judgments. Similarly, all High Courts should constitute a bench of 2 judges including a District Judge.
India's Suryakumar Yadav won the ICC T20 Cricketer of the Year 2022 award
  • Every year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) recognizes the outstanding cricketers by giving awards under various categories. In that regard, last year's recommendations were announced last December.
  • Suryakumar Yadav, Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, England's Sam Curran and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza have been nominated for the ICC Men's T20 Cricketer Award. Suryakumar has won the award beating the other three.
  • Suryakumar Yadav scored a total of 1,164 runs in T20 cricket only in 2022. He played a total of 31 matches and scored 2 centuries and 9 fifties. His batting average is 46.56. Strike rate 187.44. He took a total of 17 catches. He has hit 68 sixes.
  • India's Renuka Singh has won the ICC Emerging Cricketer Award. Last year he took 18 wickets in ODI cricket and 22 wickets in T20 cricket.
Signing of agreements between India and Egypt
  • Egyptian President Al Sisi, who has arrived in New Delhi as a special guest on Republic Day, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Hyderabad residence in New Delhi and held talks. Subsequently, the two held talks with ministers and officials from both sides.
  • At that time, the 75 years of friendship between India and Egypt and its further development were discussed. The Ministry of External Affairs of India said that political, economic, defense cooperation, trade, science, culture, public relations, regional and international affairs were discussed at that time.
  • Subsequently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Egyptian President Al Sisi jointly released a postage stamp commemorating 75 years of friendship. The central government has given permission to sell 30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat under the open market scheme
  • Considering the increasing price of wheat in the country, the central government has given permission to sell 30 lakh metric tons of wheat under the open market sale scheme.
  • It was decided in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah today that the Food Corporation of India will procure this 30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from the central storage warehouse and sell it under the domestic open market sale scheme.
  • According to this, maximum 3 thousand metric tons of wheat will be sold through e-auction to flour mills and wheat wholesalers.
