India won the ODI series against New Zealand
  • Batting first in the 3rd match held at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 385 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Batting with a target of 386 runs, the New Zealand team was bowled out for 296 runs in 41.2 overs.
  • India won the trophy by 90 runs to complete the 3-match ODI series 3-0. Shardul Thakur was selected for the man of the match award. Shubman Gill bagged the man of the series award.
  • India's Rohit Sharma has equaled Ricky Ponting's record of 30 centuries, who was on the third place in the list of highest scorers in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar (49 centuries) and Virat Kohli (46) are the top two in this category.
Mobile OS platform was developed by I.I.T., Chennai.
  • The central government has launched an indigenously developed mobile phone platform called 'Bharos', which means 'faith'. It has been developed by IIT Chennai.
  • Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tested the platform named Paros. It will be available very soon.
  • The technology has been developed by 'J&K Operations', a 'start-up' company created by the Technology Promotion Trust of IIT-Chennai.
Indian Navy's Largest Joint Combat Exercise of Tropex-23
  • The Indian Navy's largest combat exercise of 2023, the Tropex Joint Exercise, is currently underway in the Indian Ocean. It includes all units of the Indian Navy. Also, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Coast Guard have also participated in this exercise.
  • The three-month Tropex 23 exercise, which runs from January to March, involves not only naval equipment capable of striking targets on land and water, but also fighter jets of the Air Force. 
  • In this exercise, which is being carried out in various phases, naval logistics, including artillery, are used in the port and at sea.
  • Specifically, the exercise is organized to empower the Indian Navy to jointly counter a multi-pronged attack scenario.
Army Joint Exercise AMFEX 2023 Completed
  • Amfex 2023, a joint military exercise conducted by the three forces on land and water, was held in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh from 17th to 22nd. The objective of this joint exercise is to improve the interoperability and coordination of the three forces operating on land and in water. AMFEX 2023, held for the first time in Kakinada, was the grandest of the joint exercises held so far. 
  • All kinds of challenging exercises in land and water based operations were undertaken. The training of the soldiers was inspected by the Commander-in-Chief of the Eastern Fleet, Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan.
  • The Indian Navy's amphibious ships, helicopters and aircraft, 900 teams of special forces, artillery and armored vehicles of the Indian Army, Jaguar fighter jets and C-130s of the Indian Air Force participated in the exercise.
