Best Police Station Selection 2022

• This award is given every year by the Ministry of Home Affairs on behalf of the Central Government to raise the standard of the Police Station and make it more friendly to the people.
• The award is based on categories including crime rate, investigation, resolution of cases, infrastructure and public service.
• It will also include people's views on police station operations. Aska police station in Ganjam district of Odisha has topped the ranking in this category.
• Aska Police Station Inspector Prashant Kumar Sahu received the certificate of appreciation and the award to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Prime Minister Modi orders appointment of 71 thousand people

• Prime Minister Modi launched the 'Rojkar Mela' scheme to provide employment to 10 lakh people by 2024 in October last year, and 75,000 people have been appointed.
• Following this, 71,000 people were given employment orders last November. Currently, in the 3rd phase of the Rojgarh Mela, another 71,426 people were given government job appointment orders yesterday. Prime Minister Modi issued the appointment orders through video.

State DGPs, IGs meeting 2023 started in Delhi

• Every year the annual meeting of police chiefs from all the states was held in the capital Delhi. After Prime Minister Modi assumed charge, this meeting is being held outside the chairperson. 
• This time the meeting is being held at the Agricultural Research Center at Busa, Delhi. This 3-day consultation meeting has started.
• DGPs, IGs and 350 officers from paramilitary organizations from all states are participating in this meeting. Cyber security, war on drugs and cross-border threats are discussed in this meeting.
• Also expected to be discussed are Khalistan militants, threat to economy, cryptocurrency, Maoist extremism and other issues.

For the first time in the country, the Kerala government has made menstrual leave compulsory for girl students

• For the first time in the country, the Government of Kerala has announced compulsory menstrual and maternity leave for the students studying in all government higher education institutions.
• Instead of 75 per cent attendance as per university rules, girl students can appear in their semester examination with 73 per cent attendance. Further, all female students above 18 years of age can avail maternity leave up to 60 days, the order said.

First Joint Exercise between India and Egypt Military Special Forces – Cyclone-I”

• The first joint exercise between the India-Egypt military special forces named "Cyclone-I" has been underway since January 14 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
• The objective of the exercise is to enhance security cooperation between the two countries, focus on sharing the interoperability and professional capabilities of special forces in desert areas to carry out counter-terrorism raids, raids and other special operations.
• This is the first time that such an exercise will bring together the special forces of the two countries on a common platform.
• During 14 days the players will be trained in advanced specialized skills in the deserts of Rajasthan state. Soldiers will also carry out joint planning and exercises such as carrying out attacks on terrorist camps/ hideouts.
• The joint exercise will provide an understanding of the culture and tradition of both and also pave the way for military cooperation and interoperability to further strengthen India-Egypt diplomatic relations.

MoU between Renewable Energy Development Agency, Union Ministry of Renewable Energy with performance targets set for FY 2022-23

• The Renewable Energy Development Agency of India has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Renewable Energy regarding performance for the financial year 2022-23.
• Mr. Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Renewable Energy Agency of India, signed the agreement.
