• அஸ்ஸாமில் வருடாந்திர அறுவடை நடைபெறும் போது இது கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. அசாமிய புத்தாண்டின் தொடக்கத்தைக் குறிக்க மக்கள் ரோங்காலி/மாக் பிஹுவைக் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள்.
• பள்ளத்தாக்கு மக்கள் நிலத்தில் உழவுத் தொடங்கிய காலத்திலிருந்து திருவிழா தொடங்கியதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது. பிஹு பிரம்மபுத்திரா நதியின் பழமையானது என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.

• It is celebrated when the annual harvest takes place in Assam. People celebrate Rongali/Magh Bihu to mark the beginning of the Assamese new year.
• It is believed that the festival started from the time when people of the valley started tilling the land. Bihu is believed to be as old as river Brahmaputra.
