- இந்தியாவில் கடந்த 2008இல் நடந்த மும்பை பயங்கரவாதிகள் தாக்குதலை யாராலும் மறக்க முடியாது. பாகிஸ்தானில் இருந்து கடல்வழியாக நுழைந்த பயங்கரவாதிகள் இந்த தாக்குதலை நடத்தினர்.
- இந்தத் தாக்குதலுக்குப் பின்னர் தான் நமக்கு உளவு பார்ப்பதற்கு என்றே தனியாக சாட்டிலைட் தேவை என்பதை இந்தியா முடிவு செய்தது. இதற்காக 2009 ஏப்ரல் மாதம் ரிசாட்-2 (RISAT-2) என்ற ராக்கெட் ஏவப்பட்டது.
- சுமார் 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்காக இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாவலனாக செயல்பட்ட இந்த சாட்டிலைட் இப்போது மீண்டும் பூமிக்குத் திரும்பி உள்ளது. "ஐ இன் தி ஸ்கை" (Eye in the sky) என்ற இந்த சாட்டிலைட் நமது எல்லையைப் பாதுகாக்க உதவியது.
- இஸ்ரோவின் இந்த ரேடார்-இமேஜிங் ரிசார்ட் சாட்டிலைட், விண்வெளியில் இருந்து எல்லைகளில் நடக்கும் முக்கிய நடமாட்டங்களைப் படம் பிடித்து அனுப்பும். இதன் தகவல்களை அடிப்படையாக வைத்தே இரண்டு முறை சர்ஜிக்கல் ஸ்டிரைக் தாக்குதல்கள் நடந்துள்ளன.
- கடந்த அக்டோபர் 30ஆம் தேதி, இந்த ரிசார்ட்-2 சாட்டிலைட் மீண்டும் பூமியில் நுழைந்து ஜகார்த்தா அருகே இந்தியப் பெருங்கடலில் விழுந்தது. 30 கிலோ எடை கொண்ட இந்த ராக்கெட் முதலில் வெறும் 4 ஆண்டுகள் மட்டுமே செயல்படும் வகையில் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்தது.
- இருந்த போதிலும், கடைசியில் இந்த சாட்டிலைட் சுமார் 13.5 ஆண்டுகள் செயல்பட்டு உள்ளன. பல்வேறு பயங்கரவாத எதிர்ப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் இந்த சாட்டிலைட் நமக்குப் பெரியளவில் உதவி உள்ளது.
- முதலில் 2016இல் பாகிஸ்தான் ஆக்கிரமிப்பு காஷ்மீரில் அமைந்துள்ள பயங்கரவாத ஏவுதளங்கள் மீதான சர்ஜிக்கல் ஸ்டிரைக் நடத்தப்பட்டன.
- அதைத் தொடர்ந்து 2019இல் நடத்தப்பட்ட சர்ஜிக்கல் ஸ்டிரைக் என இரண்டும் இந்த உளவு செயற்கைக்கோள் கொடுத்த படங்களின் உதவியுடனேயே திட்டமிடப்பட்டது.
- இப்படிப் பல நேரங்களில் இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் உளவு கட்டமைப்புக்கு இது வலுசேர்த்துள்ளது.
- உளவு சாட்டிலைட் என்பதால் இது உள்நாட்டிலேயே கட்டமைக்கப்பட்டது. திட்டமிட்ட காலத்தில் அதை முடிக்க முடியவில்லை.
- முன்கூட்டியே லான்ச் செய்யப்பட்டு இருந்தால் 2008 பயங்கரவாத தாக்குதல் கூட எளிதாகத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தப்பட்டு இருக்கலாம் என்றும் கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்த சாட்டிலைடால் அனைத்து வானிலை காலத்திலும் இரவும் பகலும் பார்க்காமல் 24 மணி நேரமும் கண்காணிக்க முடியும்.
- அதேபோல இந்தியப் பெருங்கடல் மற்றும் அரேபியக் கடல் பகுதியில் சந்தேகத்திற்கு இடமான முறையில் இருக்கும் கப்பல்களையும் இதை வைத்து நம்மால் கண்காணிக்க முடியும்.
- இது மட்டுமின்றி அடர்ந்த காடுகளில் தேடுதல் பணிகளுக்கும் இதை நம்மால் பயன்படுத்த முடியும்.
- கடந்த 2009இல் ஆந்திர முதல்வர் ஒய் எஸ் ராஜசேகர ரெட்டி சென்ற ஹெலிகாப்டர் விபத்தில் சிக்கிய போது, இந்த சாட்டிலைட் உதவியுடன் தான் அது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.
- இப்படி இந்தியாவுக்குக் கடந்த காலங்களில் இந்த ரிசாட்-2 உளவு சாட்டிலைட் பெரியளவில் உதவி உள்ளது.
- இந்த சாட்டிலைட் சுமார் 13 ஆண்டுகள் இந்தியாவைக் கட்டிக் காத்த நிலையில், கடந்த 30ஆம் தேதி இந்த சாட்டிலைட் ஜகார்த்தாவிற்கு அருகில் உள்ள இந்தியப் பெருங்கடலில் இந்த சாட்டிலைட் விழுந்தது.
