- The Rittenhouse-based Skytrax research company annually selects and honors the world's best airlines. Presented by Skytrax, the award is popular enough to be hailed as the Oscars of the airline industry.
- The award has been announced on the basis of quality of airline service, service, sustainability, new facilities, passenger comfort, crew service, safety, etc.
- Based on a survey of 1.4 crore air travelers from 100 countries from September 2021 to August 2022, it selected the best airline.
- Qatar Airways has topped this year's "Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022" list, followed by Singapore Airlines in second place and Emirates Airways in third place.
- Ranked as the world's best airline, Qatar Airways also won eight additional awards, including Best Business Class, Best Seat and Best Food in the Business Class Lounge.
- Apart from this, two months ago, website Airline Ratings named Qatar Airways as the Airline of the Year in recognition of its cabin innovation, passenger service and determination to remain operational throughout the Covid pandemic.
