National Sports Competitions - Tamil Nadu Women's Team Champion in Athletics
- The 36th National Games, also known as the Olympics of India, are being held in the state of Gujarat. In this, 36 sports including swimming, athletics, basketball, football, hockey and volleyball are held for both sexes.
- Koko, Yoga and Mallar Kampam have been placed as introductory competition. About 7000 men and women from 28 states, 8 union territories and services have participated in the tournament.
- In this case, the Tamil Nadu women's team has won the title of champion in the athletics category of the National Games. Overall, Tamil Nadu has won 18 medals including 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze in the overall 2nd position. In the women's category alone, Tamil Nadu players have won 9 medals including 4 gold.
- Tamil Nadu sportsmen and women have won a total of 46 medals including 14 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze. In this, Archana Suchindran has set a new record in the 200 meter athletics competition. Vidya Ramraj has set a national record in 400m hurdles and N. Ajith in weightlifting.
- Mr. Sanjiv Kishore, a 1985 batch Indian Army Logistics Industrial Service, has taken over as the Director General of Military Logistics (C&S) Wing.
- He has been appointed to this post with effect from 01.10.2022 after the retirement of Mr MK Krak, who was holding this post. Prior to assuming this post, Mr Kishore was Additional Director General, Directorate of Military Logistics and Services, Kolkata.
- Private Radio Broadcasting Services by Private Agencies referred to as the Third Phase Policy Guidelines for Private Broadcasting. The government has approved amendments in certain aspects of the policy guidelines for the extension of the third phase.
- This decision was taken in the last cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In this direction, the government has decided to do away with the three-year probationary period for reconfiguration of radio licenses within a single management group within the 15-year license period.
- The government has also agreed to remove the 15 per cent national information limit to retain spectrum, a long-pending demand of the radio industry.
- In order to simplify the financial eligibility in the PNR policy norms, the bids of companies applying to participate in the auctions of C and D category cities will be reduced from the existing Rs. 1.5 crore to Rs. 1 crore has been reduced.
- These three amendments will help the private radio industry to gain full impetus economically; It will also pave the way for the expansion of radio and entertainment in the third tier cities of the country.
- It will not only create new jobs but also ensure freedom of radio for the radio medium of music and entertainment to the common people in the remotest corners of the country.

- On behalf of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the best performing players in the hockey tournament will be honored with awards.
- Indian team captain Manpreet Singh (best player), Sreejesh (best goalkeeper), women's team captain Savitha (best player), Indian player Sanjay and player Mumtaj were included in the nomination list for the year 2021-22.
- Various hockey bodies of the world, captains, coaches, players, fans and media members voted online. India's Mumtaj, 19, was adjudged the 'Rising Star' with 32.9 per cent of the total votes cast.
- Mumtaz is the third highest scorer in the Junior World Cup (6 matches, 8 goals). Due to this, he won the 'Rising Star' award.
