• தூய்மையில் சிறப்பாக செயல்படும் நகரங்களை கண்டறிந்து கவுரவப்படுத்தி ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில், ஸ்வஸ் சர்வேக்‌ஷான் என்ற பெயரில் விருது வழங்கும் திட்டத்தை 2016-ல் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அறிமுகம் செய்தார்.
• இதைத் தொடர்ந்து, பல்வேறு பிரிவுகளின் கீழ் நாட்டில் தூய்மையில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் நகரங்கள் தொடர்பான தரவரிசை பட்டியலை ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மத்திய வீட்டுவசதி மற்றும் நகர்ப்புறத் துறை அமைச்சகம் வெளியிட்டு வருகிறது. 
• அந்த வகையில் 2022-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான நாட்டின் தூய்மையான நகரங்கள் பட்டியலை மத்திய அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்நிலையில், இந்த ஆண்டுக்கான ஆய்வு 75-வது சுந்திர தின நிறைவு விழாவை முன்னிட்டு தூய்மை அமிர்தப் பெருவிழாவாக நடத்தப்பட்டது. 
• இதில் 4,354 நகரங்கள் கலந்து கொண்டன. இதற்கான விருது வழங்கும் விழா டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது. இதில் பல்வேறு பிரிவுகளில் 160-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
• அதன்படி, நாட்டின் தூய்மையான நகரங்கள் பட்டியலில் மத்தியபிரதேச மாநிலத்தின் இந்தூர் முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது. 
• கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளாக தூய்மை நகரங்களில் பட்டியலில் முதலிடத்தில் இருந்த இந்தூர் தொடர்ந்து 6-வது முறையாக முதல் இடத்தை தக்கவைத்துள்ளது.
• முதல் இடம் பிடித்துள்ள இந்தூருக்கு வெற்றிக்கான விருதை குடியரசுத் தலைவர் திரவுபதி முர்மு மத்தியபிரதேச அரசு அதிகாரிகளிடம் வழங்கினார். இந்தூருக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக குஜராத்தின் சூரத் 2-வது இடத்தையும், மகாராஷ்டிராவின் நவி மும்பை 3-வது இடத்தையும் பிடித்துள்ளது. இதில் 9-வது இடத்தை டெல்லி (என்டிஎம்சி) பெற்றுள்ளது. கடந்த ஆண்டு டெல்லி 5-வது இடத்தைப் பெற்றிருந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
• இதில் 100 நகர்ப்புற உள்ளாட்சி அமைப்புகளுக்கு மேல் உள்ள மாநிலங்களின் பட்டியல் தமிழகம் கடைசி இடத்தை பிடித்துள்ளது. 13 மாநிலங்கள் உள்ள இந்தப் பட்டியலில் 1450 மதிப்பெண்களுடன் தமிழகம் கடைசி இடத்தை பிடித்துள்ளது. 
• இதில், 10 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேல் மக்கள் தொகை உள்ள நகரங்களின் பட்டியில் இந்தூர் முதல் இடத்தையும், சூரத் 2வது இடத்தையும், நவி மும்பை 3வது இடத்தையும் பிடித்துள்ளது. தமிழ்நாட்டில் கோவை 42-வது இடத்தையும், சென்னை 44-வது இடத்தையும், மதுரை, 45-வது இடத்தையும் பிடித்தது.
• 2021-ம் ஆண்டு தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலில் சென்னை 43-வது இடத்திலும், கோவை 46-வது இடத்திலும், மதுரை 47-வது இடத்திலும் இருந்தது. கடந்த ஆண்டை விட இந்தாண்டு சென்னை ஒரு இடம் பின்தங்கியுள்ளது. கோவை மற்றும் மதுரை ஒரு சில இடங்கள் மட்டுமே முன்னேறி உள்ளது.
• 1 முதல் 10 லட்சம் வரை மக்கள் தொகை உள்ள நகரங்களில் திருப்பதி, மைசூர், புதுதில்லி உள்ளிட்ட நகரங்கள் முதல் 3 இடத்தை பிடித்தன. தமிழகத்தில் சேலம் 221-வது இடத்தையும், தூத்துக்குடி 226-வது இடத்தையும், நாகை 261-வது இடத்தையும், திருச்சி 262-வது இடத்தையும், புதுக்கோட்டை 267-வது இடத்தையும், திருவண்ணாமலை 271-வது இடத்தையும், கும்பகோணம் 287-வது இடத்தையும், தாம்பரம் 288-வது இடத்தையும், வேலூர் 291-வது இடத்தையும், கடலூர் 291-வது இடத்தையும், ஆவடி 302-வது இடத்தையும், நெல்லை 308-வது இடத்தையும், திண்டுக்கல் 316-வது இடத்தையும், ஈரோடு 322-வது இடத்தையும், திருப்பூர் 377 வது இடத்தையும், ஆம்பூர் 338-வது இடத்தையும், ராஜபாளையம் 339-வது இடத்தையும், காஞ்சிபுரம் 356-வது இடத்தையும், காரைக்குடி 371-வது இடத்தையும் பிடித்துள்ளது.
• இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பல்வேறு பிரிவுகளில் 160-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. இதில் தமிழகம் ஒரு விருதை மட்டுமே பெற்றுள்ளது. 
• தென் மண்டலத்தில் 15 ஆயிரம் முதல் 25 ஆயிரம் வரை மக்கள் தொகை கொண்ட நகரங்களில் புதிய மற்றும் சிறப்பு முயற்சிகள் பிரிவு கோவை மாவட்டத்தில் போத்தனூர் நகரம் மட்டுமே விருது பெற்றுள்ளது. மற்ற எந்த நகரங்களும் விருதை பெறவில்லை

• In 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an award scheme called Swas Survey to identify, honor and promote cities that perform well in cleanliness.
• Following this, every year the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs publishes a ranking list of the cleanest cities in the country under various categories. In that way, the central government has released the list of the cleanest cities in the country for the year 2022.
• In this case, this year's survey was conducted as Swachh Amrita festival in view of the 75th Sundra Day celebration. 4,354 cities participated in this. The award ceremony was held in Delhi. More than 160 awards were presented in various categories.
• Accordingly, Madhya Pradesh's Indore has topped the list of cleanest cities in the country. Indore, which has topped the list of cleanest cities for the past 5 years, has retained the top spot for the 6th time in a row.
• President Drabupati Murmu presented the award to the officials of the Madhya Pradesh government for winning the first place in Indore. After Indore, Gujarat's Surat is ranked 2nd and Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai is ranked 3rd. Delhi (NDMC) has got the 9th position. Last year, Delhi was ranked 5th.
• In this list of states with more than 100 urban local bodies, Tamil Nadu ranks last. Tamil Nadu ranks last with 1450 marks in this list of 13 states.
• Among the cities with a population of more than 10 lakhs, Indore is ranked first, Surat is ranked second, and Navi Mumbai is ranked third. In Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore ranked 42nd, Chennai 44th and Madurai 45th.
• In the 2021 ranking list, Chennai was ranked 43rd, Coimbatore 46th and Madurai 47th. This year Chennai is one place behind than last year. Only a few places like Coimbatore and Madurai have progressed.
• Among cities with population between 1 and 10 lakh, cities including Tirupati, Mysore and New Delhi occupied the top 3 positions. In Tamil Nadu, Salem is ranked 221st, Thoothukudi 226th, Nagai 261st, Trichy 262nd, Pudukottai 267th, Tiruvannamalai 271st, Kumbakonam 287th, Tambaram 288th and Vellore. 291st, Cuddalore 291st, Avadi 302nd, Nella 308th, Dindigul 316th, Erode 322nd, Tirupur 377th, Ambur 338th, Rajapalayam 339th Kanchipuram is ranked 356th and Karaikudi is ranked 371st.
• More than 160 awards were presented in various categories at the event. In this Tamil Nadu has received only one award.
• Among the cities with a population of 15,000 to 25,000 in South Zone, the New and Special Initiatives category, Bothanur city in Coimbatore district is the only one to receive the award. No other cities received the award
