PM Modi dedicates India's first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the country

  • The Indian Navy's existing aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was decommissioned in 1997. In honor of this, the first indigenously built aircraft carrier was named INS Vikrant. Designed by the Naval Design Division, the vessel was manufactured at the shipyard in Kochi, Kerala.
  • The bottom of the ship was prepared and launched in the year 2009. This ship has been built at a total cost of Rs.20,000 crore. The commissioning of the warship took place at Cochin Shipyard. Prime Minister Modi participated in this and dedicated the ship to the country.
  • He also introduced a new flag to the Navy. In the naval ensign designed during the British era, the existing red stripe of St. George was removed and the royal seal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was attached.
  • The red stripes designed during the British rule have been removed from the Indian Navy flag. The new white flag features the national flag, the Ashoka symbol and an anchor.
  • Along with that, the Navy's motto is also in the Devanagiri language. Its symbol is octagonal in shape representing the eight directions. From 1950 till now, the naval flag has been changed for the 4th time.
Kalyan Chaubey became the President of Football Association of India
  • Elections for the Executives of the Federation of Indian Football Associations were held. In this, 45-year-old Kalyan Chaube was elected as the leader by getting 33 votes. His opponent, former player Baichung Bhutia, got only one vote. 
  • Football association representatives from 34 states voted in this election. This is the first time in the 85-year history of Indian football that a former player has been chosen as the captain.
IIT New Deal to Increase Electric, Hydrogen Vehicles
  • IIT-Chennai and Daimler India Commercial Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop innovative solutions for technology advancements in the field of transportation at IIT-Chennai.
  • The program was attended by Satyagam Arya, Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu and Director of Daimler Commercial Vehicles, IIT Professors. IIT Chennai and Daimler India Commercial Company tie up to find new solutions in future transportation.
  • In addition, new technology companies will be identified and industry growth will be facilitated and electric and hydrogen vehicle applications will increase in the future.
Lashman from India appointed as Starbucks CEO
  • Indian-origin Lashman Narasimhan (55) was the chief executive officer of UK-based international consumer health and nutritional products retailer Reckitt Benseeker. Currently, he has been appointed as the new CEO of coffee company Starbucks. He will assume the post on October 1.
The Prime Minister laid foundation stones for various projects in Mangalore and dedicated the completed projects to the country
  • Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for Rs 3,800 crore mechanization and industrialization projects in Mangalore. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that this day is a day worth remembering in the history of India.
  • Be it regional security or economic security, India has huge opportunities. Recalling the dedication of INS Vikrant to the country, the Prime Minister said that it makes every Indian proud.
