Modi inaugurates Rs 8,600 crore projects in Gujarat - Diamond exploration and trade project in Surat
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a 2-day visit to his home state Gujarat. People gave a rousing welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Surat, known as the diamond city.
- After that, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated development projects worth Rs.3,400 crore there. The Dream City project was launched with many special features including security to make Surat the world's best destination for diamond business.
- The event was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jordosh.
- After completing his Surat trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Bhavnagar and met the people while traveling there by car. Thereafter, he initiated development projects worth Rs.5,200 crores there. He laid the foundation stone of the world's first natural gas terminal near Bhavnagar port.
- It is being launched at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore by the government and the private sector. It is noteworthy that Gujarat Bhavnagar port handles 15 lakh tonnes of cargo per year.
- Muneeshwar Nath Bhandari retired as the Chief Justice of Madras High Court on 12th. Subsequently, Duraisamy took office as the in-charge Chief Justice. He retired on 21st. Following this, D. Raja was sworn in as the Chief Justice.
- In this case, a collegium comprising of Supreme Court Chief Justice U.U. Lalit, Justices DY Chandrachud and Sanjay Kishan Kaul was able to deliberate on issues including transfer of High Court judges.
- In this meeting, the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court, S.Muralidar, has been recommended to the Union Government to be made the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. Muralidhar will take office as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court once the President gives his approval.
- 10 pits have already been excavated in an archaeological mound near Vembakottai, Virudhunagar district, and the excavations have unearthed several types of artefacts, including a terracotta vase. A bird's head and a human face have been found in flint
- The 36th National Games of the country is being held in 6 cities including Ahmedabad and Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and addressed the inauguration ceremony at Narendra Modi Maidan in Ahmedabad.
- While the 35th National Games were held in Kerala in 2015, it has been announced that the 2020 National Games will be held in Coimbatore. However, due to the Corona virus, it was not conducted.
- In this competition, both men and women participated in 36 sports. Also, more than 7 thousand players from 28 states and 8 union territories have participated in the tournament.
- Many ancient artifacts have been found in the ongoing excavations at Kontakhai. Rare items used by our ancestors are being discovered day by day. In that way, a 40 cm long sword has been found in the current excavation at Kontakhai.
- A sword made of iron was found buried in the thali. So far, more than 1500 artefacts have been found in Kontakhai.
