Narikuravar & Kuruvikarar Foxes, sparrows in the list of tribals - Union Cabinet meeting approved
- In the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi yesterday, approval has been given to include the so-called Narikuravar and Kuruvikarar in the tribal list. The Union Cabinet has approved the inclusion of communities that were missing from the list of tribals in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh.
- Hence, all the concessions available to the tribals will now also be available to the Narikuruvar, Sparrowhawk, Hatti and Brygia communities. This historic decision has been taken in the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Modi.
- 1.60 lakh people belonging to Hatti community will benefit from inclusion in Scheduled Tribes. The Hatti people are in large numbers in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Similarly, Chhattisgarh state has a large population of Brigiyas who will also benefit. The fox and sparrow community in Tamil Nadu will also benefit from this.
- 3.05 hectares of land has been allocated in Thotanoothu village in Dindigul East Circle, Dindigul East Circle to consolidate Thotanoothu, Adiyanoothu and Gopalpatti camps and set up a new camp with 321 new houses, and funds have also been allocated by the government.
- In this case, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin yesterday inaugurated 321 new houses and infrastructural facilities built at a cost of Rs.17 crore 84 lakh 48 thousand by consolidating the camps in Dindigul district through a video presentation.
- Chief Minister M.K.Stalin launched a new program called 'SIRPI' (Students In Responsible Police Initiatives) on behalf of the Chennai Metropolitan Police to help the students to excel in morals and education, to develop good character with patriotism, and to lead the way.
- The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of the agreement to host the Under-17 Women's World Cup Football Tournament (2022) in India.
- The Under-17 Women's World Cup (2022) will be held in India from October 11 to October 30. The seventh edition of the biennial youth competition will be held in India for the first time.
- All India Football Federation under the Assistance Scheme for National Sports Federations Rs. 10 crore has been provided.
- Annual inflation rate based on Total Price Index stood at 12.41% (provisional) in August (higher than August 2021). It was 13.93% in July 2022.
- Inflation has increased over the same month last year due to the increase in the prices of mineral oils, food products, crude petroleum and natural gas, base metals, chemicals and chemical products, and electricity.
- The 36th Conference of the Trilateral Commanders was held in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 12th and 13th September 2022. In this two-day conference, Andaman and Nicobar Command Lt. Gen. Ajay Singh, Southern Island Lt. Gen. JS. Nain, Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh of the Western Fleet, Vice Admiral Hambiholi of the Southern Fleet, Air Chief of the Southern Air Force Air Marshal J. Chalapati, Eastern Fleet Vice Admiral A.T.M. Sanjay Vatsayan and others were present.
- Geographical potential elements and infrastructure in the Indian Ocean region, coordination of tri-force regional operations, ways to enhance tri-force development and tri-force readiness were also discussed.
- The conference aims to enhance India's maritime service, integrated service and joint strength of capabilities. Also, it focused on addressing contemporary security paradigms. It also explored ways to improve combat effectiveness and make assets more effective and efficient.
