Road Safety Awareness Manual - Released by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin

  • Tamil Nadu ranks first in the national level in establishing good road infrastructure. The total length of roads in Tamil Nadu is 2.61 lakh km. Of these, 70,556 km are maintained by the Highways Department. There are long roads.
  • These are maintained under various divisions like National Highways, State Highways, District Main Roads and District Other Roads. Due to the lack of awareness among the public about the road structure, its rules and road codes, more accidents and fatalities occur.
  • Therefore, a road safety awareness manual has been prepared to make road safety a people's movement, to create an accident-free Tamil Nadu and to create awareness among the public about proper use of roads.
  • This manual was released by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin at the Chief Secretariat, Chennai. In this, the impact of vehicle speed, World Health Organization, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways statistics related to road accidents, causes of accidents, ways to avoid them, rules of the road, regulations to be followed while traveling, warning signs, vehicle maintenance, explanations of first aid services and helpline numbers. are featured.

The 6th meeting of the Australia-India Education Council was chaired by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and attended by Australian Education Minister Jason Clare.
