World Athletics Championships 2022
- The World Athletics Championships are being held in Eugene, USA. In the women's triple jump, Yulimar Rojas of Venezuela won the gold medal with a distance of 15.47 meters.
- He also won gold in 2017 and 2019. Jamaica's Shanika Ricketts won the silver medal with a throw of 14.89m, while Tori Franklin of the United States won the bronze medal with a throw of 14.72m.
- India's Avinash Sable disappointed in the men's 3,000m steeplechase final with an 11th-placed finish. He covered the race distance in 8:31.75 seconds. Morocco's Sophian covered the distance in 8:25.13 seconds to win the gold. Ethiopia's Lamecha Kirma (8:26.01) won the silver medal and Kenya's Consezlus Gibruto (8:27.92) won the bronze medal.
- 12 athletes from different countries competed for the gold medal in the women's 1500m race. In this, Faith Kibeyakan from Kenya reached the goal with lightning speed and became the first.

- The Shooting World Cup is being held in Changwon, Korea. In the 25m rapid fire pistol mixed team category, India's Anish Banwala and Rhythm Sangwan played against Czech Republic's Ana Tedova and Martin Potrásky in the bronze medal match.
- In this, the pair of Anish Banwala and Ritham Sangavan won the bronze medal with a score of 16-12. This is the 2nd time that Anish and Ritham have won a medal in the World Cup.
- The pair won gold in the same category at the World Cup held in Cairo last year. So far India has won 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals in Changwon World Cup series.
- India's Mairaj Khan takes on Korea's Minsu Kim in the men's skeet final at the World Shooting Championships in Sangkwang, South Korea. Minsu Kim is a 3-time World Champion and 2-time Olympic medalist. Hence, a medal for Mairaj Khan shot well in the challenging conditions to beat Minsu Kim 40 to 37.
- In England, Ban won Livin's bronze medal. With this victory, India's gold tally has increased to 5. India continues to lead the medal list by winning 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.
- The Ministry of Heavy Industries has sanctioned 2,877 EV charging stations in 68 cities across 25 states/UTs under FAM Phase II. Also, 1576 power efficiency stations on 9 expressways and 16 highways have been sanctioned under this scheme. As on 01.07.2022, 479 skill development centers have been established under the first phase of Fame India programme.
