- உலக உணவு பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் ஊட்டச்சத்து 2022 என்ற ஆய்வு அறிக்கையை ஐ.நா. உணவு மற்றும் விவசாய அமைப்பு வெளியிட்டது.
- அதில், 'கடந்த ஆண்டு வறுமையால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவா்களின் எண்ணிக்கை உலக அளவில் 828 மில்லியனாக அதிகரித்தது. 2020 ஒப்பிடுகையில் இது 46 மில்லியனும், கரோனா தாக்கத்துக்கு முன்பு ஒப்பிடுகையில், 150 மில்லியனும் அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
- 2015 வரையில் வறுமையால் பாதிக்கப்படுவா்களின் எண்ணிக்கையில் பெரும் மாற்றம் ஏற்படாமல் இருந்தது. வறுமை ஒழிப்பில் உலகம் தற்போது பின்னோக்கிச் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
- கோதுமை, பாா்லி, சூரியகாந்தி எண்ணெய் உற்பத்தியில் உக்ரைனும், ரஷியாவும் உலகில் முன்னணி வகிக்கின்றன. சூரியகாந்தி எண்ணெயைப் பொருத்தவரை மொத்த உலக உற்பத்தியில் பாதியளவு இவ்விரண்டு நாடுகளும் 50 சதவீத பங்களிப்பைக் கொண்டுள்ளன.
- உலக அளவிலான கோதுமை, பாா்லி உற்பத்தியில் மூன்றில் ஒரு பங்கு ரஷியா, உக்ரைனின் பங்களிப்பாகும். உக்ரைன் போரால் விநியோக சங்கிலி பாதிப்பு ஏற்பட்டதால், உணவு தானியங்கள், வேளாண் உரங்களின் விலை சா்வதேச அளவில் அதிகரித்தது.
- அத்துடன், பருவ நிலை மாற்றம் காரணமாக ஏற்பட்ட இயற்கைப் பேரிடா்களால் குறைந்த வருமானம் கொண்ட நாடுகள் கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
- உலகில் சுமாா் 92.4 கோடி மக்கள் (மொத்த உலக மக்கள்தொகையில் 11.7 சதவீதம் போ) உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு இல்லாமல் உள்ளனா். இந்த எண்ணிக்கை கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளில் 20.7 கோடி அதிகரித்துள்ளது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
- 2020-இல் உலகம் முழுவதும் சுமாா் 300 கோடி போ ஊட்டச்சத்துள்ள உணவைப் பெற முடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. முந்தைய 2019-ஆம் ஆண்டைவிட இது சுமாா் 11.2 கோடி அதிகமாகும்.
- உலகெங்கிலும் 5 வயதுக்குள்பட்ட சுமாா் 4.5 கோடி குழந்தைகள் கடுமையான ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடுக்கு உள்ளாகி உள்ளனா். இதனால் அவா்களின் உயிரிழப்பு அபாயம் 12 மடங்கு அதிகமாகி உள்ளது.

- Russia and Ukraine contribute one-third of world wheat and barley production. Due to supply chain disruption caused by the war in Ukraine, prices of food grains and agricultural fertilizers increased internationally.
- In addition, low-income countries have been severely affected by natural disasters caused by climate change. Around 92.4 crore people (11.7 percent of the total world population) are food insecure in the world. It is noteworthy that this number has increased by 20.7 crores in the last two years.
- In 2020, around 300 million people around the world will not have access to nutritious food. This is about 11.2 crore more than the previous year 2019. About 4.5 crore children under the age of 5 worldwide are severely malnourished. Due to this, their risk of death has increased 12 times.
