Rs 43,000 crore on first day of IPL broadcasting rights auction

• The IPL broadcasting rights have reached Rs 43,000 crore in the first day of the auction. That means the auction for only 2 of the 4 categories ended today.
• "Package 1" is priced at around Rs 23,370 crore, while "Package 2" is priced at Rs. 19,680 crore has gone to auction. Now every match in the IPL is worth Rs 105 crore. The IPL is now the next step for the American National Football League.
• The number of IPL spectators is increasing every year. The IPL series, which started in 2008, is now very popular in many countries. Thus there is stiff competition every time IPL TV seizes digital licenses. In the first 10 years, Sony Pictures acquired the broadcasting rights for Rs 8,200 crore.
• It was followed by Star India and Dishney acquiring the television license and digital license for Rs 16,347 crore over the next 5 years.
• The BCCI is to divide the broadcasting rights into 4 sections for the years 2023 to 2027. Muniyanathan appointed TNPSC Chairman
