Emanuel Macron was re-elected President of France
  • The French presidential election was held in two rounds. In the first round 12 candidates were on the field. But no one got the majority. The two candidates with the most votes then contested the next round.
  • None of the candidates has won a majority in the first round of elections so far. Like last year 2017, this time Mayya Emanuel Macron and far-right Marine Le Pen clashed in the second round.
  • The first round of elections was held on the 10th. Emanuel then received only 50 percent of the vote. This was followed by Emanuel and Marine in the second round. Emanuel received 58.2 percent of the vote and Marine Le Pen 41.8 percent. 
  • Following this, Emanuel Macron was declared the winner of the presidential election. Macron has been president since 2017. This is the first time in 20 years that a single person has become overweight again.
Second gold for India in World Cup archery
