- உலக தண்ணீர் தினம் (அல்லது) உலக நீர் நாள் 2025 / WORLD WATER DAY 2025: உலக நீர் நாள் (World Water Day), ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவையின் தீர்மானத்துக்கு இணங்க ஆண்டு தோறும் மார்ச் 22 ஆம் நாள் உலகெங்கும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
- 1992 ஆம் ஆண்டில் பிரேசிலில் ரியோ டி ஜனெய்ரோ நகரில் இடம்பெற்ற சுற்றுச்சூழல் மற்றும் வளர்ச்சி குறித்து நடைபெற்ற ஐநா பேரவைக் கூட்டத் தொடரில் வைக்கப்பட்ட 21ம் நூற்றாண்டின் செயல் திட்டத்தின்படி 1993, ஜனவரி 18 ஆம் நாள் 47வது ஐ.நா பேரவை கூட்டத் தொடர் 193ம் தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றியது. அத்துடன் 1993ம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டின் மார்ச் 22ம் நாளும் உலக நீர் வள நாளாக கொண்டாடத் தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டது.
- நீர் வளத்தின் ஒட்டுமொத்தத் திட்டத்தையும் நிர்வாகத்தையும் மேம்படுத்தி நீர் வள பாதுகாப்பை வலுப்படுத்தி நாள்தோறும் கடுமையாகியுள்ள நீர் பற்றாக்குறை பிரச்சினையை தீர்ப்பது என்பது தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டதன் நோக்கமாகும்.
- அதேவேளையில் மக்களிடையே விரிவாக பிரச்சாரம் செய்து மக்களிடையே அந்தந்த நாட்டின் நீர் வளப் பாதுகாப்பு பற்றி விழிப்புணர்வு வளர்த்தி ஏற்படுத்தவும் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
- 2003 இல் 58வது ஐநா பேரவைக் கூட்டத் தொடரில் நிறைவேற்ற தீர்மானம் ஒன்றின் படி 2005 முதல் 2015 வரையான காலப்பகுதி "பத்தாண்டுகளுக்கு உயிர் வாழ்வதற்கு நீர்" எனும் அனைத்துலக செயல் திட்ட காலமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. 2005ம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 22ம் நாளன்று இந்த நடவடிக்கை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தது.
- நீர்த் திட்டம் குறித்து ஈடுபட்டுள்ள நிறுவனங்களில் ஏதாவது ஒன்று ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் அனைத்துலக மட்டத்தில் நீர் வளப் பாதுகாப்புக் குறித்த செயல்திட்டங்களை ஒருங்கிணைத்து அதனை உலக நீர் நாளில் முன்னெடுப்பதும் ஐநா நிறுவனத்தின் திட்டம் ஆகும்.
- இத்திட்டத்தின்படி 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான உலக நீர் நாள் யுனெஸ்கோவினால் "நீரும் கலாசாரமும்" (Water and Culture) என்ற கருப்பொருளில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
- 2007 இல், "நீர் பற்றாக்குறையுடன் ஒத்துழைப்பது" ('Coping with Water Scarcity') என்ற தொனிப்பொருளில் FAO அமைப்பினால் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

- WORLD WATER DAY 2025: World Water Day is celebrated around the world on March 22 every year in accordance with a United Nations resolution.
- The 47th session of the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 193 on January 18, 1993, in accordance with the agenda of the 21st Century Convention on the Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1992. It has also been decided to celebrate March 22 every year since 1993 as World Water Resources Day.
- The purpose of the resolution is to improve the overall planning and management of water resources, strengthen water resource security and address the growing problem of water scarcity.
- At the same time it was requested to conduct a detailed campaign among the people and create awareness among the people about the water resource conservation of the respective country.
- According to a resolution passed at the 58th session of the UN General Assembly in 2003, the period from 2005 to 2015 was declared the International Action Plan for "Water for Ten Decades". The move officially came into effect on March 22, 2005.
- It is the plan of the United Nations that one of the organizations involved in the water project coordinate international water resource conservation projects each year and carry it out on World Water Day.
- According to the project, World Water Day 2006 was launched by UNESCO under the theme "Water and Culture". Launched in 2007 by FAO under the theme 'Coping with Water Scarcity'.
