- சுவிஸ் நாட்டை சேர்ந்த IQAir என்ற நிறுவனம் இந்த ஆண்டிற்கான உலகக் காற்றுத் தர அறிக்கையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
- கடந்த 3 ஆண்டுகளாகச் சர்வதேச காற்றின் தரம் சற்றே மேம்பட்டு வந்த சூழலில், இந்த ஆண்டு காற்றின் தரம் மீண்டும் மோசமான நிலையை அடைந்து உள்ளது.
- டெல்லி தொடர்ந்து இரண்டாவது ஆண்டாக உலகின் மிகவும் மாசுபட்ட தலைநகராக பெயர் பெற்று முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- அங்குக் கடந்த ஆண்டுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் காற்று மாசு கிட்டத்தட்ட 15 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது என்னும் அதிரவைக்கும் தகவலை வெளியிட்டு உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பின் பாதுகாப்பு வரம்புகளை விடக் கிட்டத்தட்ட 20 மடங்கு அதிகமாக உள்ளது என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- உலகின் மிகவும் மாசுபட்ட நகரமாக ராஜஸ்தானின் பிவாடி உள்ளது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து காசியாபாத் 2ஆவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. முதல் 15 மாசுபட்ட நகரங்களில் 10 நகரங்கள் இந்தியாவில் உள்ளவை.
- டாப் 100 மாசடைந்த நகரங்களில் 63 நகரங்கள் இந்தியாவில் உள்ளன என்று ரிப்போர்ட் கூறுகிறது. கடந்த ஆண்டில் சென்னையைத் தவிர மற்ற 6 மெட்ரோ நகரங்களிலும் காற்று மாசு அளவு அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
- கடந்த ஆண்டு மத்திய அரசு வெளியிட்ட தரவுகளிலும் டெல்லி, கொல்கத்தா மற்றும் மும்பை நகரங்களில் காற்றின் தரம் மோசமடைந்துள்ளதையே காட்டுகிறது.
- அதேபோல இந்தியாவிலேயே சுத்தமான காற்று தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள அரியலூரில் உள்ளது என்றாலும், அதுவும் உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பின் பாதுகாப்பான அளவை விட மூன்று மடங்கு அதிகமாகவே உள்ளது.
- IQAir வெளியிட்ட இந்த அறிக்கையில் நெல் அறுவடைக்குப் பிறகு பயிர்களை எரிப்பதால் ஏற்படும் காற்று மாசு தொடர்பாகவும் அந்த அறிக்கையில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- குறிப்பாக டெல்லியில் இந்த புகை காரணமாக மட்டுமே 45 சதவீதம் வரை காற்று மாசு ஏற்படுவதாகக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. குறிப்பாகக் குளிர் காலங்களில் டெல்லிக்கு அருகிலுள்ள விவசாய நிலங்களில் தீ வைத்து எரிப்பது டெல்லி காற்று மாசுக்கு முக்கிய காரணமாக உள்ளது.
- அதேநேரம் இந்த ஆண்டு சீனாவின் காற்றின் தரம் மேம்பட்டு உள்ளதாக IQAir அறிக்கை குறிப்பிடுகிறது. சீனாவில் கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளாகக் காற்றின் தரம் தொடர்ந்து மேம்பட்டு வருவது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
- அனல் மின் நிலையங்களில் இருந்து வெளியாகும் காற்று மாசை குறைத்ததில் இருந்தே சீனாவால் காற்று மாசை குறைக்க முடிந்துள்ளதாக அதில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- Swiss company IQAir has released this year's World Air Quality Report. In an environment where international air quality has improved slightly over the past 3 years, air quality has again deteriorated this year.
- Delhi has topped the list of most polluted capitals in the world for the second year in a row.
- There has been a shocking report that air pollution has increased by almost 15 percent compared to last year, which is almost 20 times higher than the World Health Organization's safety limits.
- Bhiwadi is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Ghaziabad is in 2nd place after that. Of the top 15 most polluted cities, 10 are in India. Of the top 100 most polluted cities, 63 are in India, according to the report. Apart from Chennai, air pollution has increased in six other metro cities in the last one year.
- Data released by the central government last year also shows that air quality in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai has deteriorated. Similarly, although the cleanest air in India is in Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu, it is still three times the World Health Organization's safe level.
- The report, published by IQAir, also cites air pollution caused by burning of crops after paddy harvest. In Delhi in particular, the smoke alone is said to cause up to 45 per cent air pollution. The burning of agricultural lands near Delhi, especially in winters, is a major cause of air pollution in Delhi.
- At the same time, the IQAir report notes that China's air quality has improved this year. Air quality in China has been steadily improving over the past 5 years. It said China has been able to reduce air pollution since it reduced emissions from thermal power plants.
