- பணவீக்க விகிதங்களை நுகர்வோர் உணவு விலைக் குறியீட்டின் அடிப்படையில் சதவீதத்தில் கணக்கிட்டபோது, ஜனவரி மாதத்தில் (தற்காலிகம்) கிராமப்புறங்களில் 5.18 ஆகவும், நகரங்களில் 5.88 ஆகவும், இரண்டும் இணைந்து 5.43 ஆகவும் இருந்தன.
- The National Statistics Office (NSO) of the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation has released the Consumer Price Index (WPI) for the month of January 2022 for both rural, urban and combined combinations based on 2012 = 100.
- Price statistics are collected weekly from 1114 urban markets and 1181 rural markets in all States and Union Territories across the country by the Field Division of the National Statistics Office.
- The All India Inflation Rate is based on general indices and statistics. In January 2022, the National Statistics Office collected price data from 99.7 percent of rural and 98.2 percent of urban markets.
- In January, inflation was calculated as a percentage on the basis of the Consumer Price Index (General) at 6.12 (temporary) in rural areas, 5.91 in urban areas and 6.01 in both combinations.
